And thus, Mora was never seen again.   On a side note, I know we didn’t update a bonus comic this past weekend, as some things happened, so I’m going to try to do it this next weekend, if possible. I also been working on the sketch drive sketches, although in a very slow manner. Sorry to the ones that are still waiting for theirs. I hate make people wait, but it’s hard to avoid it sometimes!
  • Stevie

God ****** Alej……I wanna give you a hug a slap you at the same time….

    • KYamato

Why the hell would you want to hug her? She just attacked Mora just because she mentioned Tootsie came to her farm! Mora may be a flawed character, but she nothing she’s done has deserved this, especially since she’s trying to make up for how she hurt Alej.

      • http://www.yoshsaga.com Sage

Actually from some perspective Tootsie is Alej only friend. To think that she lost her only friend to her rival would be a serious betrayal which is one of the most common motives for murder(and assault/battery).

      • Kura

Also in her current state of mind, little things like what mora said can set her off. She was quite volatile due to all the issue that happened to her, her anger/rage/hate was her way of dealing with it, but seeing what she did to mora snapped her out of the bad state of mind she was in.

      • Jasonrevall

Well Alej did tell her to leave. Mora is trespassing.

      • Pachi

        Why…so…serious?

      • revilnemesis3

@Sage The thing is Alej told Tootsie to leave.

      • Smilingahab

Because without icecream and hugs, the heeeeeeeeealing cannot begin.

      • kes

        Tootsie was practically disowned.

    • Sandstorm

A “slap” huh? Oh you dirty, you. Then again, Alej dose deserve a “special reward” for what she just did.

      • Donovan

Yeah, a straight jacket and shock therapy

      • Icalasari

Donovan: Ooh, getting into the REALLY kinky stuff, huh?

    • AflacMan13

Seems I called that one accurately (two pages ago).

  • Mecha X

    Damn!

  • Scott M

    Oh, ye gods…

This is one of those terrible moments you’d do absolutely anything to take back. It’s a tragedy that it took this much to finally make a crack in Alejandra’s depression.

    • Razmoudah

On the positive side I highly doubt that’d be enough to kill Mora, maybe knock her out cold, but not kill. Alej is lucky that Mora’s skull is softer than mine, as that wouldn’t do more than temporarily stun me, and although I would’ve been more aware of what the entirety of the problem was I would’ve taken a less gentle approach in the first place.

      • Darkguyver2020

I dunno. I’ve heard several cases where a person has died just from being punched in the back of the head. Imagine what damage a stiff wooden object could cause.
But whatever. Mora is quite thick headed, so she’ll be alright.

      • SilentMech

Consider the fact that a weapon called a cudgel was used in mideival times. A weapon that was usually made of wood, had a carved in axe edge that was then flattened with a knife so that it would break bones, leave bruises, and some times even cut skin. Now I don’t know how many rifle butts you have seen, but they bear a striking resemblance to a cudgel, granted they are smoother and more rounded, but same thing applies still.

      • Solokov

…I beleive that is legally defined as Assault. also with a deadly weapon, not in the way it usually is done… but then again the impact broke the stock of the shotgun. That was either a lot of force in the strike, or there was a flaw in the stock. In the latter case Alej would have likely wound up with it shattering and sharp edges being driven into her shoulder ….well regardless.

      • http://deviantart.com Philly

but isnt bad to have a softer skull? i mean if you get hit in the head with a blunt weapon on head w/ a soft skull wont that cause internal bleeding to the brain.

      • IslaKariese

@Philly I think they just mean that if Raz was in Mora’s place and didn’t end up knocked out, it’s be Alej getting her ass whooped to high heaven.

  • Gawayne

    KO!

    • Nurambus

      HAW!

  • http://2jin.deviantart.com/ Jin

    …Nice job Alej. Nice job. >>;

    • david

      that’s terrible

      • Thor

It’s the best she could do with a broken gun.

      • Smartkittykhan

I’m fairly certain Jin meant it sarcastically.

  • Jim

My in-laws used to kill their cattle with head blows. They used a 10# sledge hammer. The skull is fairly thick around the horns.

    • Comichero

my dad used to do the same thing with hogs but with a ball -pin hammer

  • http://www.yoshsaga.com Sage

Ha! Now she’s really going to miss Tootsie and realize the mistake shes made. After all, Tootsie wouldnt think twice about helping her hide the body.

Though personally I think this is perfect, Mora shuts up, and Alej finally breaks so she can either realize her mistake, or go totally crazy. If the next shot is Alej digging a hole going all crazy eyed this comic will seem much darker o_o

    • BarGamer

Daw, she DOES care about Tootsie!

  • Gaddez

Lord I can’t wait to see how the trolls respond to this.

  • william

wow, what a suprising turn of events here. I don’t think that mora is dead, just unconsious and probably facing a coma or a case of amnesia. what a dick move on alejandra’s part, mora was trying to settle the hatred in the air and she just cracks her upside the head hard enough to break the shoulder rest of her shotgun. I know she has issues but there is a line and she just crossed it.

    • Albert

I agree. This is too much.Mora was even ready to get down to the root of the problem and she attacked her, and when she wasn’t looking to make it worse. If she punched her in the face or something fine but cracking her on her head from behind? I knew she was losing her mind but this is inexcusable and to make it worse now she will get in trouble for assaulting Mora giving the board more then enough evidence to prove that she has lost it and take the company away from her. She just screwed herself over royally and people on this site are congratulating her. ‘Good work Alej for finalizing your downward spiral. Next stop prison or a strait jacket’ You people are delusional at best.

      • Thor

Oh, stop with the high-and-mighty moralizing. You would have done the exact same thing in the circumstances, just like everyone else.

Admit it — we’re all human, especially the cartoon cows.

      • KYamato

Thor, I’m pretty sure most people would only respond like this if they were as crazy as Alej is at this point. Alej didn’t even bother to listen to the rest of what Mora said. All she heard was “Tootsie went to Mora’s farm” and then decided to club Mora on the back of the head as hard as she could. I’m pretty sure most people would not immediately resort to such irrational violence even when confronted by someone they hate.

      • CJ

iReplying agree with Albert. Alej has gone too far with this. She is acting like a 5 year old throwing this hissy fit…she uses any excuse to lash out on Mora just to regret it afterwards. Its so annoying how much of a bitch she can be…and I thought Mora was immature

      • william

as much as i can see the reason for you guys to worry about alejandra and her future, right now we kinda need to focus on mora and whether or not she is going to survive this encounter with more or less than a little scratch.

  • Albert

Good God! What the hell? Please tell me people are not going to cheer or condone this. She is absolutely out of her mind. Mora was just trying to help her and she smashed her over the head? She even admitted that Alej was treated unfairly and she wanted to talk about it.Okay I am through feeling sorry for Alej. She had it rough but this is too much. Anyone who is cheering about this or saying that it is good needs to put themselves in a mental institution. How is this good? Despite Mora’s flaws how does she deserve this? She could be dead or seriously injured. WTF Alej?

    • KYamato

I’m with you all the way on this. It’s so sad that just because some people hater Mora for her character flaws so much that they’ll approve of such atrocious behavior. I don’t even get how they try to justify any of Alej’s past actions either.

      • Austin

Ditto here~. That was a VERY stupid thing to do. I mean REALLY?!

I do wanna know something though. Tootsie was sent away by Alej, so what the flying f*** does she have to be angry about?

    • otterpoet

I’m with you. I’ve always hoped Alej would come around, but this? Even with all her problems, cold-cocking someone that’s ~helping~ her with the butt of a shotgun is unforgivable. I think that’s the worst part. . . my respect for Mora went through the roof, so seeing her get hurt that bad while doing the ‘right’ thing twists in my gut. Sure, it’s drama (blah, blah, blah), but any hope for a reconciliation is gone now. We’re verging on Greek tragedy now :P

    • Kurai

She didn’t mean to do it. She lashed out because she thought Mora was STILL trying to take everything away from her. Mora was apologizing, but the thought of losing Tootsie, too, made her lash out. You can tell from the last two panels Alej didn’t realize what she did and is seriously concerned and horrified by what she’s done.

      • Uhl

Remember, Alej sent Tootsie away IN THE FIRST PLACE. Kinda strange to accuse someone of “stealing” something you threw away. Alej is now acting like Cinderella’s stepsisters in the Disney version. They threw away a bunch of jewelry and finery because “it was passe” or “the color was wrong,” etc. Then when Cinderella salvaged them from the trash, and painstakingly created a beautiful, original outfit from scratch out of them (to go to the princess ball), the cruel stepmother pointed at a piece and said it “looks familiar” and then the stepsisters literally tore her dress apart (while she was wearing it) because she “stole” their jewelry. AND WE KNOW THE STEPSISTERS WERE VILLAINS IN THAT STORY. Anyone shouting “Go ALEJ” now REALLY needs a therapist or a straightjacket, BADLY.

    • celtcath

      Agreed.

    • Velen

@Everyone who is hounding everyone who is still feeling sorry for Alej: You’re taking the comic and it’s contents far too seriously, and maybe it is yourselves who need professional help for that. Seriously. They need professional help because of how they feel about characters in a WEBCOMIC? What planet do you people live on? Seriously.

We’ve finally hit the falling action of this arc of the story. This is the part where things are going to start getting resolved in a slow manner.

I myself have flown into blind rages before. I would compare blind rage to an unstoppable, irrational beast, not unlike Marvel’s “The Incredible Hulk” in terms of ferocity. Blind rage is capable of making people do insane things they would never do under normal circumstances. It can take a lot to calm down a person who is in a blind rage. I should know.

I am however in partial agreement about Alej: She has gone too far, and she is now realizing this. Her volatile state of mind is the cause of her moment of insanity. Alej is far from mentally, incurably insane, however, despite her actions. Not being able to see the difference between right and wrong for a split second does not constitute insanity. It constitutes a fit of rage, a momentary snapping.

Alej’s response shows concretely that she realizes that she has just done something very wrong. A viable reason being because deep in the back of her mind, Mora was still her best friend and surrogate sister. She still recognized her as “family” despite her state of mind and her recent feelings. Her competitive feelings however, got the best of her, soon culminating in this, add this to her disdainful feelings for Mora at leaving to find her Dad, leaving her mother, herself, and Randal alone, and her loss at the pageant, and Alej became a recipe for disaster.

Alej will get better. This will also change her for the better most likely, making her realize the weight of her misdeeds and deeply rooted feelings. All that’s left to see is whether Alejandra Coldthorn will break completely under the mental and emotional weight, and truly become as insane as you people make her out to be, or whether the possible coming of her awakened Nano-Zel Spirit will save her unstable mind, and heal Mora and her in the process.

      • Tearahk

I agree with you completely. People these days don’t seem to understand the difference between insanity and a laps in judgment. And I too know a thing about blind rage and know that your not entirely able to distinguish between right and wrong. And once the fit is over, you most of the time, realize what you did wrong.

I think that the Spirit my, in fact, awaken soon and try and help Alej out of this problem, probably healing Mora in the process. But its all up to what Chalo wants to do. We just have to wait and see.

  • Insomniac

I can SEE what is going through their minds at those few seconds. O.O Ale-Flash backs of all the times Mora has in some way or another wronged her or taken something from her. Mora-”I really hope there are pancakes with fruit inside, and lots of butter…..why does my head hurt so much suddenly? Oh hi Mr. Blade of Grass! I bring you greetings from The Land of Mora’s Face.” o.o Gun Stock. “Oh good, I was worried you were going to leave me out here. Wow your picking me up fast! HOLY $*)%*)#(@#)@()$*)%&!!!!! Ugh…..I shoulda listened to my Ma and been made into a chair. *sighs* I’m never going to hear the end of this from her I’m sure. Anyone got any glue!?”

    MY TOOTSIE HAS BEEN STOLED

  • Victor

Good God, woman, what have you done?! O.O

  • astersa

    no… mames… O.O

  • Lerndon

    Uh… Oops?

  • Thor

If Patches has actually killed Mora, they’ll have to rename the strip “Less Lindas”.

    • Gaddez

This is in astronomically bad taste.

    • Thor

It was either that or “Alej Oops”.

    • Gryph23

      I laughed.

  • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/iron-confederate/ Iron

Quick, dump the body in the furnace and burn it!

    In all seriousness… yeah, WTF?!

  • astersa

    mexico all is stunned. O.O

  • Wolve95

Boom headshot!! +50 xp. But no seriously put the canceled comics back up.

  • Nurambus

Yep. This just solidifies my reasons for being on Mora’s side. Alej has some serious issues. I have sympathy, but she needs help soon.

  • Slasheredge

I can’t say I didn’t see that coming since Alej has got major problems. I mean Mora has problems to, but not as bad as Alej so has lived her life trying to improve herself. Then starts to screw up as soon as Mora comes back. It’s been years Alej get over it, and you may want to make sure she’s not dead or has a damaged brain. Oh yeah and call your laywer.

  • Albert

@ Thor. Is that what you would have done in that situation, hit the person behind the head with a metal shotgun as hard as you could? Well I am sorry but any human that does that or feels that is what they would have done needs to go into a mental intuition or prison. She didn’t even hit her in the face, she hit her from behind like a coward which makes it ten times worse. I have never hit anyone that hard no matter how angry I was and I have gotten very angry in the past. I won’t take what yous said seriously since this only a comic if you feel that this is the right behavior for anyone even if you are angry, you need serious help.

    • Ilithandie

obviously you havent gotten that angry. or you lashed out in other ways. Humans are destructive creatures by nature. We as a speicies are more detructive than anything but nature itself, and at least nature only does so as a balncing act. But seriously, if you where in the situation that all of your anger was coming out and you where not prepared for it and further forced to deal with you realy think you whouldnt hit the offender (person or object)? If so you are obvouisly either a Zen Master or some one who doesnt fully understand what being human is … I am going with option 2 as number 1 would mean you probly arent reading this let alone posting to it.

  • http://katbox.net BlackWind

oh no she broke the shotgun butt on her skull. now what will she do now?

    • Thor

It’s okay. She already needed to buy a new shotgun.

  • Thor

I don’t see the problem with this. Mora was clearly trespassing, attempting to steal one Alej’s possessions, and was in the process of kidnapping Alej when she struck out in self-defense.

If she was in America, then her only regret would have been not swinging harder, to eliminate a witness against her. Now she has to decide if it is better to take a more effective second blow and hope that forensics wouldn’t detect it, or take the safer route of lawyering up and letting the courts handle it.

    • Gaddez

This isn’t self defense, and if you tried this in the states it would be at the very least assault and (at worst) murder 2.

Frankly, the fact that you don’t see the problem with one character attacking another one who was only trying to help her tells me you should perhaps seek profesional help.

      • Thor

I need professional help because I interpret a piece of art differently than you do? Should I try to find a professional webcomic critic then? Is there even such a thing?

    • KYamato

Okay what America are you living in where this behavior is okay? Mora wasn’t trying to “steal” any of Alejandra’s possessions, she was preventing her from killing a living creature or in legal terms acting in self-defense on behalf of another. Also, she wasn’t kidnapping Alej since she wasn’t forcing Alej to go anywhere. No where in the above comic does Alej say she does not want Mora to take her to her farm and Mora is not threatening her in any way. Trespassing is a possibility except Alej did not threaten to call the police to force Mora off her property or demand that she leave first. It is not okay to assualt someone on your property right away when all they’ve come to do is talk.

    • Katlamos

I have the sinking feeling you’re one of those types that don’t see the Stand Your Ground laws to be in bad taste at all. You probably also sit on your porch threatening people with a shotgun if they try to set one foot on your property.

Not sure if troll or just plain dumb as driveway gravel.

      • Agamemnon

Stand Your Ground and Castle Doctrine is fine by me, as long as it’s used to justify self defense, and not assault.

I say this having come from Maryland, where in the 1990′s you were legally obligated to ‘retreat until retreat is impossible’, and then you could only respond with ‘proportionate force’. So, if you were a 100lb woman being raped by a 300lb muscle-guy, and he was unarmed, you could not legally use a knife or a gun since those would be ‘disproportionate force’, and God help you if you were in a room that had windows and an unlocked door and weren’t tied down, since each of those was a potential escape route.

It was getting to the point where they were finding people guilty of murder for being stuck in a closet or bathroom and defending themselves (there was an exit; only partially blocked by the person after them, so why didn’t they take it?). There was one guy one neighborhood over from where I lived who heard a noise downstairs in the middle of the night and went down to see what it was, found a guy riffling around his living room, guy pulled a knife on him and threatened to kill him, then rape and kill his wife and daughter. The homeowner went to jail for murder because he pushed the guy and the guy hit is head on the corner of the coffee table. They got him on it because he 1. didn’t retreat, 2. “there was no proof” the trespasser actually intended to do what he said he was going to do, 3. “disproportionate use of force”, since the homeowner used force, and accidentally lethal force at that, and the trespasser had only used threat of force up to that point.

Ideally, you would not need to take laws as far as Castle Doctrine, but when you don’t, you tend to get stupid, stupid crap like that as the norm, not the exception, everywhere but the backwoods.

    • Albert

Okay, now you are just making up stuff now.

    • IslaKariese

@Thor Goodness, you make it sound like that’s the actual law and moral standpoint in America, which it’s not. Alej may hate Mora’s guts, but she didn’t ask her to leave, ruling out trespassing. Mora wasn’t stealing a possession so much as protecting a potential child and sentient being and holding it for safekeeping until Alej was in a better state of mind. And it only counts as self defense if Mora was physically attacking her at the time. Not to mention it’d be hard to pass it off as such since she hit her from behind and not across the face, and there are no signs of a fight save grass-stains and rumpled clothing.

Whichever way you look at it, Alej’s just proven herself mentally unsound as a danger to others. She may have been instantly remorseful, but ‘I didn’t mean to’ doesn’t hold up a solid case in court no matter how you dress it up, save to declare her officially insane.

      • MadLarry

… Not that I necessarily think what Alej did is okay, but…

“Alej may hate Mora’s guts, but she didn’t ask her to leave, ruling out trespassing.”

Uh, yeah, she did. She specifically told Mora to leave on the previous page. It does not have to be phrased as a request to qualify.

If you’re going to argue a case, at least bring up points that can’t be disproven with about six seconds of research.

      • IslaKariese

@MadLarry …Okay, so I didn’t look at the argument as thoroughly as I could have. Scratch that part, then. But I suppose that when looking back, I think it wasn’t so much a refusal to leave as it was a “No, I won’t take this with me,” or “No, I’m not leaving without you.” My only excuse for not arguing properly was that I was rather tired when I replied. My apologies.

Either way, this wasn’t a retaliation for trespassing. This wasn’t “Leave and get off my property or I’ll shoot you/maim you/call the police,” the latter of which is the appropriate response anyway, but a reaction out of anger. I may have gotten that part of my argument wrong, but the point as a whole still stands.

      • MadLarry

In all honesty I don’t really care at all, it’s just a webcomic and not something worth arguing over. I just like being a pedantic asshole from time to time.

  • Kyre_Dusk

Way to go, Alej…you potentially killed a friend who went out of their way to help you. Mora may have deserved many things, but definitely not being blindsided by a mad cow.

  • FelixKarl

What the Heck? Alej is my favorite character in this series…. But come on! Then again, this is a quick crime of passion; that final betrayal on Tootsie’s end threw her over the edge. Hopefully this ends without someone being killed.

    • KYamato

How did Tootsie betray her? She went to Mora’s to SAVE Alej not ruin her despite the fact that Alej basically cut all ties with her.

    • drake

There was never a betrayal, unless its for Alej’s goal of destroying Las Lindas then yes she did betray her.

  • http://laslindas.katbox.net/ Carbuncle21

OHHH snap she lost it for a breif moment there during that misunderstanding i could defnitly see alje doing that without meaning to the look on her face at the end clearly shows it

  • http://laslindas.katbox.net/ Carbuncle21

you guys need to chill with this whole black and white area thing and look at the bigger picture here

    • Thor

You’re right. There also needs to be an investigation of fraud into the local gun-makers. A hardwood gun stock should not shatter into flinders so easily, especially when struck against a cushioned surface like flesh-covered bone. Someone is making a quick buck by using sub-standard materials and selling them at full value.

If Patches loses her job, she can probably make enough money from the lawsuit that she’ll never have to work again.

      • IslaKariese

You might have a point, if you don’t take into account that it’d be much more likely for a cow to have more strength and a thicker skull than a human. Just take a look at Minos’ early farm work.

  • Troll under the Bridge

To those saying they hope Mora’s dead, or lamenting that she’s obviously going to live, what kind of comic would it be if the main character died? If you don’t like the MAIN CHARACTER, why read it? It’s like reading Naruto and table-flipping every time that Gary of a Stu comes out on top. Or hating that one guy called Batman in that one comic… CALLED BATMAN. If you don’t like Mora, fine, I don’t care, you have your reasons, but why sit here and complain that your cheeseburger has cheese on it?

    • Thor

The strip isn’t named after Mora. It’s named after the farm. Just because Mora might be pushing up the daisies doesn’t mean that the farm is dead too.

      • KYamato

However, the main driving force of the comic has been and is Mora’s development as a character. If she dies then that disappears, probably along with the farm since no one else who works there would probably inherit it or keep together.

      • Troll under the Bridge

What’s Mora’s last name? “Linda” The farm is called “Las Lindas”, after the family name which is “Linda”, so technically speaking it’s named after her. But yeah, that’s a good point, it’s not named directly after her. But the comic series is still about her. You can’t kill off Ichigo from “Bleach” and expect it to be “Bleach.”

And you know what, people take this WAY too seriously! xD I couldn’t care less about which cow is wrong, so long as the comic keeps me entertained. I think we can all agree on entertainment value; it’s what brings everyone back.

      • Tearahk

@Troll I agree completely with your last statement. As long as the story is still entertaining to me, I really couldn’t care less who is right and who is wrong here. This is just a random web comic I read to pass the time and have a laugh or two, nothing to get overly excited about.
Course, that may just be me. *shrugs*

  • DrBored

Quite the turn of events. I predict that now Alej will realize just how much she loves Mora and will start to cry, breaking down at last. Mora, the thickheaded girl that she is, will be secretly listening the whole time.

    • Thor

That’s quite the stretch just to set up some cow-on-cow action. Plus, they are practically sisters, so while it wouldn’t be illegal, it would still be a touch icky.

      • KYamato

I think he meant sisterly love not “love” love.

  • Ilithandie

So has anyone actually been in a blind rage? For thouse of you that haven’t I can personaly atest to being able to still (after 5 years) feel some one trying to strangle me. yet all acounts say I actually struck out first. Rage is not something that can be isolated and pined down. During such extrem anger you are not in control at all trust me. Alje snaped and yes haveing been a similar situation (No actual blows where struck) in nearly flatned out my own mother that i wasnt even pissed with she just said something that made me snap. SO translating that to someone that i was actually pissed with… yep that is exactly where i would go.

And for thouse that say you have the controll to not let this happen ever no matter the circumstance. You are idiots that do not understand a single thing about human nature. the chareceters are based off humans. Mora is not a Mary-Sue she is a charecter that must grow and develope more. GET OVER IT. She is learning lessons as she goes.

Alje has every right to be pissed with Mora. Her only friend and family just suddenly left her alone with an abusive (or atleast neglectful) Father, left her mother that cared deeply for her (and to a teenage Alje it probly looked like Mora killed her mother) something that Alje never had. Mora took for granted and ignored everything that she had that Alje wanted as her own. Then comes back and everything seems to fall right into her lap. … Yep 10 -15 years of anger simmering … yeah i think i wouldnt be all that reasonable either no one would. To have your entire life destroyed by someone yeah you would be pissed.

    • KYamato

I understand how this happened and that it happens in real life , but it doesn’t absolve Alej of responsibility from her actions.

      • Ilithandie

I never said it absolved her just that it is a human response to the situation. Humans are for the most part a prety destructive speices. It realy sucks.

    • Katlamos

I had a best friend lash out like that at me once. We managed to patch things up after the fact because I pushed him too far in a bad time, and we both were committed to trying to get past it. In this strip, I see echos of that event (not as extreme, but still).

Blind rage does not absolve Alej of her actions, and she will have to face whatever may come. Hopefully this is a turning point, and the good will outweigh the bad in the long run, for it sure as hell won’t in the short term.

      • drake

More than likely it will envolve Alej losing control of her company and living and working at las lindas, after some rehab of course.

    • RazorKaru

Adding in my own bit here:

Rage is a fickle thing. You can have an iron grip on it and keep it chained. It shares part of your brain, so it is essentially you. You and it knows all the tricks. It knows that if it start whispering to you at the right times, or pushes in the right direction, one it hits that point of no return,

      Boom.

You black out, you lash out, you smash everything around, your body throws out everything it has in one massive burst of rage and anger. The mind can panic, it can regain control after is goes “OH SNAP! THIS IS BAD!” But it’s hard to reign in unchained anger once it’s been let loose.

But, as Alej just discovered, certain actions can make the rage stop for a second, and then the world crashes. I expect that to be happening soon and that this is a very real situation.

    • Agamemnon

When I was in Jr. High I had a chronic bully problem for about a year and a half from one group of kids. Didn’t stop until I just about beat the leader to death with a baseball bat during gym class. He struck me with it first and I went blind rage on him, so I know how it is too. To this day, I don’t remember anything between being hit in the gut then the head with the bat and standing over him, holding about 1/2 a splintered bat. Doesn’t change the fact that I almost killed someone, and likely would have if one of the girls in my class hadn’t interceded and snapped me out of it. As it was, at least I had a legitimate self-defense claim, with about 40 witnesses.

Alej doesn’t have either of those things. At most blind rage would amount to temporary insanity in her case, and be a mitigating circumstance in sentencing. Not a lot of courts go for that anymore though.

  • Thor

From what I’ve seen from reading the comments here from week to week, some of the posters here are in a blind rage every time they post here. It’s quite frightening really. I fear for their families.

    • KYamato

Out of curiousity whose side do you think these posters usually take?

      • Ilithandie

I would say probly a 50/50 or close to.

@Thor yep I agree. I hope my post didnt come off as a blind rage. Just trying to be very blunt.

      • Thor

That’s a tricky question. It’s not just a question of being for one or the other. There’s also the option of being against one or the other, though there is a fair amount of overlap between (for example) the Pro-Alej posters and the Anti-Mora posters.

I’ve seen froth and spittle from all four sides, though the Anti-Mora crowd are usually the most steadfast in their keyboard-pounding fury.

  • drake

Alej, say goodbye to the farm, and hello to a jail cell.

I feel sorry for her, but to attack another person… nothing justifies what she did no matter how anyone puts it.

    • Thor
      • MadLarry

        ^ That’s… kind of a good point.

That’s an inherent problem with that kind of ‘comedic’ injury; if you later try a similar thing in a more dramatic manner, it makes the perpetrator in the ‘comedic’ scene look like as much of an asshole as the perp in the dramatic one.

      • IslaKariese

The point still stands. Nothing justified Mora’s actions in that strip and nothing justifies Alej’s here.

      • MadLarry

Oh, I agree completely, it’s really not okay for either of them.

Thing is, though, Mora’s not going to wind up paying for it, so we have this predicament: either we have to take this example as comedic, or we have to realize that Mora is the heroine in name only. And I know the fanbrats will never accept the latter.

So I have no choice but to find this page funny.

      • IslaKariese

But, in a way, she did pay for it. Not immediately or directly, as though to spank a child who broke something they weren’t supposed to touch, but through the events that followed because of her attitude, the way karma works. She treated Miles like shit and (while it was played for laughs in the given strip) she ended up paying for it later.

  • MadLarry

Well, I said a couple pages ago I thought they both needed to get whacked over the head with a big stick until they get some sense knocked into ‘em.

    One down, one to go.

  • Newker

Shes back to normal after committing assault, see no more black speach bubble.

  • Newker

Alej theres still the barrel of the gun to hit yourself with.

  • Icalasari

…Could lead to a personality change in Mora?

    Would be interesting…

    • KYamato

Depends on the personality change. If all the improvements she’s made were undone then I don’t think it would be worth it.

      • http://yearofthecow.petitesymphony.com/ OtakuMan

Ever see what happens to Fred Flintstone when a bowling ball lands on his head?

Odds are good she’ll think she’s a renegade cyborg from the future trying to stop Miles from powering his plane which she thinks holds the AI for something SkyNet-ish. And she’ll be speaking in French.

        …what? It could happen!

  • Michael

    Next please!

I read all comics of LL in two days, 2 hours a day.

Very, Very nice work from you Chalo. Continue making these please, perfect work this far!

  • Gryph23

Well, this isn’t good…however, I still feel some slight sense of “Haw haw!”

I apologize. I know that it’s quite awful of me, but I got a kick out of it at first. Then, of course, came the guilt, and finally the “Oh, that actually happened.”

She’s obviously not dead (main character and all), yet I can’t help but feel that this will create a bit of tension between the two.

  • Chocothunda

    Shit…

Despite her flaws, Mora really and truly seemed like she was just trying to help…now we have this.

This may not have killed her, but that’s could be some serious damage to the back of her head.

  • Foxx

Well! Now thats over, who wants hamburgers?

    • KYamato

      Wow…just wow

    • http://semc.deviantart.com SEMC

MEEEE! ME ME ME! I’ll start the barbeque and get it hot!

  • Duckeh

I think I would feel a lot worse for Mora if she wasn’t so prone to violence when angry herself. I like Mora as a character and I am on her side, it’s just that there’s been numerous occasions (or at least two, looking at the other comments) where she herself has been physically violent for reasons that were, honestly, inferior to Alej’s.

    Either way, queue dramatic music!

  • Chaos

    Great tragedy before great happiness..

    • Austin

… Yeah, somehow don’t see it yet.

  • Impish

Finally, I am so happy that Alej finally save her a good ol’ smack, even if it was across the head with a large chunk of wood. I think it’s pretty justified, considering she is treating this person who despises her like a mental patient. : And mentioning Tootsie was -not- the brightest of ideas.

    • Uhl

Well, Alej is ACTING like a mental patient, you know, shooting everything in the house with a shotgun, breaking the gun in half, nearly killing the digital AI.

NOT treating Alej like a mental patient is suicidally stupid. In fact, the only REAL mistake Mora made here was turning her back to Alej while escorting her back to the Lindas farm.

  • Wicked Seven

*Places a chair a few feet away and noms on some popcorn.*

  • Lumaria

Hmmm well with Alej in prison and Mora dead does this mean we get more Miles time?

  • dreddy71

ok a whack to the back of the head but dont wory, her boobs caught her fall. >_>

nice over emotional burst of frustration and rage followed by what a pears to be immediate regret and surprise. clearly these last few pages have been an emotional rollercoaster for alej but hey, now its time to try to walk it all off. i think mora knows she had it coming, as long as she pulls through this with no real long term problem she should be able to “man up” and forgive alej for it, which will probably just piss off alej again…

  • Draco10901

And here I thought the safety was on.

  • Allester

Ehem, Three words come to mind: IT’S CLOBBERIN’ TIME!

    Thank you~

  • Nezumi-kun

Well, at least Mora landed on something soft.

  • Bucc-i

    YES!
    Its about time!
    Heifer!

  • Leo

    JEEZUS CHRIST!!!!!

What have you done Alej?!? D:

  • Wolfe

    …dear load….that last panel is adorable! >////<

Anyway Mora will be fine. Besides, with Alej feeling so bad about doing that she'll finally listen! The healing can begin!…both physically and emotionally.

Besides, cows technically have a fairly thick skull.

  • Celestdue

Finally! Jeez that has taken a while to witness. At last someone has done to Mora what she has constantly deserved since turning from ‘Interesting character’ to ‘manipulative whore’ in the first few pages and her constant descent ever since. I can leave this comic now with the satisfactory knowledge that the most well developed character in the series has won. Time to celebrate!

    • Austin

Mad bro? Troll some more. This is the very thing short minded people just can’t handle.

Mora may not have been the best person in the past with what she did with a few people but I can see a little logic in the latest. A black cat was trying to steal her boyfriend even knowing he was in the point already with Mora. That would piss any girl off.

Back to Alejandra. She really wasn’t thinking when she did this. She was the one who sent Tootsie away in the first place, so she has no ground to stand on and say someone stole her from her when she’d already virtually disowned her. This was just a dumb moment for Alej, who simply can’t deal with problems like that anymore.

Hopefully, the trauma she get’s from nearly killing her ex-best friend will give her back a little f***ing sense. If not, she’s just become a dumb bitch as well as a spaz.

    • http://semc.deviantart.com SEMC

Yes! High Five. Oh wait, you already are gone.

      Well I’m gone too!

  • Alex C

Mora’s got a thick skull… I hope. Alej has so much rage that she has not dealt with, I’m not surprised in the least by this action. The instant remorse is a nice touch to that lashing out of anger. Is it any wonder she is not able to activate her guardian?

i love this web comic is is epic best story every i love this <3 :P <3

    • Michael

You are absolutely right! Ive lived into this comic so drastically, that i would like to be a cartoon character too. It sounds weird but, I love this comic with my very heart. We have all been watching this comic growing and in these 6 years of awesomeness this comic has no only given the best quality to its readers, but also taken their hearts. I’m not a fan from the early days, I actually started reading for three days ago. Im a furry fan and I am now really happy I found this comic. I read it in 5 hours from the beginning to the end, it was a breathtaking experience!

I’ll say this, and I mean it. I will miss this comic alot if they stop making more. I will probably make the same cute face as Sarah did when she was asking Rachael to go somewhere idk. That is the face Ill make when I beg Chalo to continue making these epic comic strips.

I am a fan. I will tell my friends about this. I will support this great artwork that the creators of this godlike comic make.

      Sincerely, Michael from Finland

JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!

    • Never here

      I’ll admit, that got me.

  • Sly

For all the shit Mora has been doin, I say she deserved it.

  • Irate_Shaman

    Oh snap!

  • Lime

And of course Alej is once again made into a horrible mindless monster. >_>

As much as I like this comic, the characters’ actions are just too unrealistic and overly dramatic. Personally, I don’t picture someone like Alej. who build an entire empire and made loads of wealth behaving this way just because of some drama in her childhood. Boohoo Mora left. No one would dedicate their life to getting back at someone for such a stupid reason.

She clearly had surpassed Mora in every way and had moved beyond the hardships of her past, someone with that amount of strength and knowledge would have known to handled the situation so much better. But instead she was portrayed as a crazed lunatic out for revenge.

Again, I like this comic and I will continue to read it (’cause I like Alej and Rachel), but all in all… I’m disappointed on how the characters emotions and behaviors have been over simplified to the point where they just cliche and in an unrealistic manner.

  • T-Squared

I was about to continue reading the comic after the first quarter of the page, but I froze as soon as I saw what had happened. I couldn’t move for about 5 seconds. o_o

    Her eyes… They’re so blank. D8

  • B.Amos

Granted, I am a big Alej fan over Mora, I find her design and character overall to my liking (but that’s usually the sort of characters I lean to, like YGO’s Seto Kaiba for example)…

I had a good laugh at Mora’s expense, I confess. I can’t 100% condemn Alej for that knee-jerk move, but I don’t condone it either. I would say it’s 50/50. People don’t seem to grasp the fact that the woman has been in obvious need of help or therapy for a long ass time, and she hasn’t had someone to really PUSH her stubborn butt into it. For the most part Tootsie went along with everything and Mora dragged her feet in just stepping up and addressing the conflict. Only when things get dire do they sit there and go ‘Houston, we have a problem’ and do anything. Something like this is what happens when you let things sit for too long, they either overcook or collect dust. This one was obviously overcooked. =

  • daedalus

Ohhh snap… way to make things worse there Alej…

Well, we now have a situaion where our deeply flawed protagonist should be looking at, realistically, at least a very serious head injury, while our also deeply flawed antagonist will at least face a serious medical bill (if she has any class whatsoever). Will either of these scenarios come to pass? Only the author knows. I only hope something like this happens though, because serious plot twists (especially involving violence) without realistic outcomes leaves readers feeling cheated, as evidenced by some of the comments I’ve seen. Ideally, both of our lady friends need to pay a price here. I only hope that it happens.

  • EtStrange

Holy $#*@!! That’s a lot of comments. Also, ouch.

  • RazorKaru

O…oh wow. Ow. Just ow. Hope that thick skull of hers holds up. On top of that, the feeling of just grabbing Alej by the shoulders and shaking her back and forth while yelling at her face may be in order.

ZOOOOOMG!!!! You got knocked the FUGGOUT!

  • victim

As a victim of violent assault this page and most of the comments have really made me take a step back. You people are seriously fucked up. No one, EVER deserves to be attacked like that, for ANY reason, no excuses!!! People die like this every single day!! Getting a head injury that forces you to go the hospital for days and almost die is never DESERVED.

I hope none of you ever have to be in a situatuion like this, you’re changed forever. It’s even worse when it happens with someone you love. Seriously, you kids are fucking disgusting. Trolling is one thing, but this??

    • Thor

Why are you blaming the commenters? Chalo’s the one who scripted and drew this piece of the old ultraviolence. Why aren’t you decrying him for promoting and glamorizing these beef-on-beef crimes?

  • xenofurr

Dang folks, it is only a cartoon. You are worse than women and their soaps!

  • RazorKaru

    Ok, so analysis thus far:

Alej is going to crash very suddenly as reality finally decides to smack her as hard as she did Mora. Mora is going to wake up with a horrible headache along with a concussion that makes her feel like she hit too many tequilas for the 5th.

And, interestingly enough, it seems the situation is flipped on these two. But Mora is trying to be diplomatic instead of spiteful. Whereas Mora has gained everything, Alej is on the verge of losing everything.

Here’s hoping Mora’s rage switch hasn’t been flipped.

    • revilnemesis3

      The situation is flipped?

      • B.Amos

I think situation flipped as in at the start Alej had it all and Mora was bankrupt, now Mora seems to have it all and Alej is losing everything. At least that’s what I figured.

  • Robe’rt

Man, I don’t know whether to help Alej out or slap the hell out her…probably both just in case.

  • synaris

hehe, you know its a successful drama when people do nothing but talk about the characters and their motivations as opposed to blaming the writer. bravo chalo.

  • Anon

guys calm down its a poorly written webcomic full of lewd poses, if you should be arguing anything argue about who has the best pair of tits and ass, not character and plot. You won’t find good characters and a well written plot here.

    • MIB victim.

If you hate the comic that much, you can leave you know. It’s not like some MiB have you chained down to a chair in front of a computer with your eyes wired open hitting the “refresh” button every few seconds… OH GOD, PLEASE STOP! LET ME GO TO THE BATHROOM! AAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!

For some reason, I red “cuack!” instead of “thwack!”.
Alej is in a fragile state and yes this was too far, but it was a matter of time for her to snap and attack Mora.

  • otterpoet

Well, considering how think-headed Mora is, I’m sure she’ll be fine…

And if the whole business thing doesn’t work out, I think Alej could try out for the local baseball team.

    • otterpoet

Man, I wish there was an ‘edit’… that’d be ‘THICK’-headed… typed without coffee.

  • Jeremy Canine

    Oh no I killed her

  • Neku

My god, the amount of discussion after LIKE ONE SINGLE DAY OF UPDATED COMIC. And the amount of trolling. Hi Karkat! Nice to see one of the Adorabloodthirsty crew make it here. [/half sarcasm]
The long and short of it: Mora should have known better than to drag Alej to her own farm when there’s a perfectly good mansion for quality time only a few steps away. And bringing up Tootsie would have been better done BEFORE this started, not just a passing “She’s there, too”. Alej overreacted, and as stated before, probably wants with every bit of her being to take back the blow. Both for a legal and emotional standpoint.

  • Sunnie Kolme

    Oh shit.

Also lol at the arguments in the comments. You guys make yourselves so easy to troll. .__.

    • Thor

I know I do, but what can I say? I’m just a simple, old-fashioned guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. And if that makes me a target for jeers and ridicule, I guess I’ll just have to learn to man up and take it.

    Damn….

  • That girl

I shit you not, I laughed like hell. Mostly because I didn’t expect it. Gotta love that lil paranoid Alej. She completely ignored the “has a plan to get you out of this mess” part and only heard “tootsie at my farm” >.<

  • Kobra

Well Mora was told to leave and shouldn’t be so pushy with a person in such a volatile state of mind. And what else could Alej do? She cant shoot her with a broken gun. But cookies for all those that guessed Mora would get bludgeoned! Iv wanted to see Mora get a good hit in the head for a while now.
And really you people are so soft! Mora is the main character/Mary Sue. Of course she isn’t going to die! Besides she is too hard headed for such a thing to happen.

    • Zachary

I don’t know about that. I’ve read a part in the novel “The Hunger Games” where Clove, the feminine tribute from District Two, got bludgeoned on the forehead by Thresh, leaving a dent which she slowly died from. With a dent on the skull like Mora has, you’ve got to expect the worst. She may have died instantly from that.

By the way, have you read up on the Shakeperean play “Hamlet”? The main character died in it. It could be the same with Mora.

      • Kobra

Clove isn’t a cow, there notorious for having thick skulls. And this comic is no hamlet.

      • Zachary

        Thick skulls? Good point.

  • DragonDred

She was hurting the people around her, and it took this mindless burst of anger to show what she has been doing. Alej, YOU ARE ONE STABORN *****.
    <(*,(C=(-_-Q) [Punch]

    • Kobra

Not really she just finally got to vent all that frustration. Smashing something/one is a better form of stress relies than shooting. More physical venting.

  • DarronRanston

This is why you never turn your back on someone who is both having a serious mental breakdown and hates your guts for various reason. All creatures are at their most dangerous when they’re so wounded.

    • DarronRanston

Not to mention the way Mora seemed to keep marginalizing Alej’s feelings right to her face, acting as if Alej’s pain and feelings of betrayal were somewhat silly and petty… I’m not saying Mora deserved a busted off shotgun but to the back of the head, but she sure as hell needed something up the backside of her head.

      • Albert

You read it wrong. Mora was just trying to be understanding towards her. She even admitted that Alej was treat unfairly. She didn’t marginalize anything. Alej is just crazy in the head. I’ll bet if someone did this to you, you would rationalize it no matter how much you deserved it. I’ll bet if a friend hit you over the head and you woke up hours later you wouldn’t go up to him and say ‘Thanks pal I deserved that’ you would say ‘You Fing psycho, you could have killed me’ and called the police to haul his @$$ away. It’s easy to say who deserves something as long as it isn’t you it’s happening to.

  • Albert

Okay this is the last time I am going to post this but anyone saying that this is how they would react to a situation and they understand what Alej did you are not right in the head. I supposed if she stabbed her with a knife on impulse I suppose people would have understood that too.Someone once hit me, knocked my glasses off and stomped on them bending them and scrapping them up. Did I go get a blunt object and hit them over the head? No. I walked away. It has nothing to do if it is a comic or not but the fact that your reactions to the violence are so positive.Mora wasn’t forcing her anywhere she was willingly going with her until she mentioned Tootsie’s name. She just wanted to talk and even admitted that she has gone through a lot and needed some love and response she cowardly hit her from behind.

No matter how mad someone made me I NEVER stooped so low. If I got into a fight it was in front of the person with my bare hands not with a baseball bat or piece of wood. I don’t understand how anyone can condone violent, cowardly, psychotic behavior like this and try to justify it. Whether Mora is unconscious for a while, seriously injured or more unlikely dead is not the point. The point is that if you were in Mora’s shoes and you were trying to help your friend despite how angry they were at you and they did this to you, you wouldn’t wake up from unconsciousness or a coma and say ‘Good work pal, I deserved that’. It’s not supposed to be funny and I am guessing he people laughing about it are the same kind of people who probably laugh at their friends when they get seriously injured and break their bones and are bleeding or in pain. So in short we are not taking the comic seriously we are talking your glee and understanding of such deplorable behavior seriously

    • Neku

I’ll be honest, Al. I’ve been silently agreeing with a lot of what you say, normally an intelligent mix of being open minded about what we know and are simply speculating. But taking the “moral high ground” argument in a comic about anthromorphs and their drama, where everyone knows for a fact the blow won’t be lethal, and enforcing the point by putting down people in a fashion that probably covers the minority of anyone siding with Alej for delivering the blow? That’s about as facepalm-worthy as the bestiality troll from last comic. And I sincerely hope this is the worst reaction you get. >_>

      • Albert

You just don’t understand do you? It has nothing to do if it is a comic or a movie or a cartoon. It’s your reaction to them that is the problem. People always say that ‘it’s just a cartoon ‘ therefore justify your behavior. The characters are imaginary but the situation is realistic. If I wrote a book about someone who abused children and the theme of my book was that they deserved what they got, are the children or the people abusing them real? No. But what would you think about the people agreeing with my book and the character’s situation? Would you say it’s okay it’s just a book? No you wouldn’t, you would think that we are disturbed in some way.

The fact that she hit Mora over the head is bordering on psychotic behavior and people are here saying that it is exactly what they would do if confronted by the situation and trying to justify it.It has nothing to do with if she is just a character or that it probably is not a fatal blow. The very act of doing it is horribly violent and people are relating with it. If I smashed you over the back of your head and it wasn’t fatal would you excuse me because you didn’t die? when you read a story you are supposed to relate to a character but when you relate to the person who is obviously in the wrong and cheer them on no less, I question what kind of person you are. If I watched a horror movie and cheered every time the killer ripped someone open what would you think of me? I’ll bet you would think I was weird at best, crazy at worst.

@ Kobra. Look at the first panel. Alej was relenting and becoming more complacent which is why she let her take her arm. It was when she mentioned Tootsie is what set her off again. She wasn’t kidnapping her she was just holding her hand. Kidnapping her would be holding her around her neck in a head lock and dragging her along.

      • Neku

I’ll admit, I chuckled. “I agree with you” turns into “I don’t understand” what you’re saying.
So let’s try this again. “I agree with your logic (and have for a while) but feel picking a fight with the readers about it is stupid”, for the reasons stated before. You’re not going to be a hero for trying to shove consideration down peoples’ throats, nor are all the people you’re belittling in the argument truly as low as you make them to be. If you need an analogy, look at everyone who enjoys crime in games like Manhunt, Grand Theft Auto, etc. It’s a game–not real–and the pleasure potentially derived from such acts does not always reflect on their real life behaviors. The only difference between such games and Las Lindas is that the characters here can actually be related to as people because they’re given a little more depth. Again, this is not an attack on your thought process. Only reminding you that not everyone will treat characters in a comic as they would other real people.

    • Kobra

Actually Mora was dragging her by the arm, and Alej told her to leave her alone. Mora was basically forcing her to go, practically kidnapping her. You’re also missing a important fact here…
      People just don’t like Mora.

      • revilnemesis3

        Kidnapping is a stretch.

        Why do people hate Mora?
It isn’t like Alej is any better.

    • B.Amos

First of all, you read way too much into people’s entertainment at Mora getting bludgeoned. A lot of them just don’t like her. People are amused when they see people they don’t like injured. It is a fact, it’s part of human nature.

Now, I will agree that the people who say they would do just like Alej did are wrong…but for a different reason. It’s also the same reason you are wrong as well. Yes, violence is awful. People who are of a normal, healthy mental state don’t do that. But unless you’ve had a major mental breakdown laced with seething, pent up rage, you can’t say you relate or understand. You also can’t say ‘Well I would never do that!’ because you don’t know. You’ve never been to that sort of breaking point, as I’m sure a lot of these people haven’t. Plus breaking points vary from person to person. If I were in Alej’s shoes? Damned if I know how I would react.

And if I were in Mora’s shoes, I would probably call the cops…maybe…but then again there might be more of an ass-whooping instead. It would depend on how pissed I was.

  • Katzy

God damn it…x___X Alej that was THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO >3<

Although I understand she's out of her mind, but still D; I'm sure Mora's just unconscious, and thankfully it seems to have snapped Alej out of her mania. Let's hope she turns her shit around after this.

Mora's gonna be pissed, but after A LOT of begging and apology I'm sure she'll jump back on the 'help Alejandra' bandwagon.

  • Michael

I’ve lived into this comic so drastically, that i would like to be a cartoon character too. It sounds weird but, I love this comic from my very heart. We have all been watching this comic growing and in these 6 years of awesomeness this comic has not only given the best quality to its readers, but also stolen their hearts.

Please, do NOT stop making these. It makes my day everytime a new comic is up.

    Sincerely, Michael from Finland

Hey! Albert is my first name and this guy stole it! lol

but really, who thinks that the sprit gem will awaken over this?

    • Albert

Wouldn’t that be kind of a bad thing? The spirit gem awakens because Alej is just hit someone over the head in psychotic rage? What kind of spirit would that be. The only reason I see that happening is that it awakens to help Mora.

      • Kobra

Obviously it would be an evil spirit.

    • otterpoet

That’d fit into the storyline, more than likely. We were looking for an ‘epiphany’ moment…well, I doubt you can do better than ‘Dear God, I just bludgeoned my ‘sister’ because I lost control.’ She’ll probably plead with the gem to save her friend, fully realizing what she’s done. Poof – Anti-digit appears to save the day.

  • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/otaconmagoo Otacon_Magoo

K.O.!! should be the title of this comic, that hit must’ve fractured Mora’s skull, and Alej is now in BIG trouble. I would like to think she would’ve let the words come out about “Tootsie came to me to help you, Alej” or something along those lines before the gun stock to Mora’s head we wouldn’t be in this situation where Alej went gangster on Mora.

    • MIB victim.

      She did, actually.

  • remmus

yeah she aint dead, this aint that kind of web comic, frankly it´s kinda good for both of them, Alej snapped out of her rage spiral and Mora got to feel some pain for once, hopefully it leave a learning scar, not everything is solved with the power of friendship.

  • http://yearofthecow.petitesymphony.com/ OtakuMan

    WONDER PREDICTION POWERS ACTIVATE!

    TAKE THE FORM OF… EXPOSITION!

Okay, here’s what I think is going to happen. Alej has clearly snapped out of her rage and madness as indicated by the shift in color of her speech bubbles. Things have finally clicked in her head just how bad she’s become, and now she’s done something that she regrets immensely.

This is going to lead to her finally opening up her heart to the feelings and emotions she’s been holding back because of Diana’s passing, Mora’s departure, and the harsh realities of running her own business. With this, the Spirit Gem will finally activate and release the spirit contained within.

(Why did that last sentence sound like part of a toy/video game pitch?)

The spirit quickly jumps into overdrive and assist Alej with helping Mora. Alej realizes that there’s no way to hide what she did based on the physical evidence at her home (broken gun barrel, forensics of wound, and maybe even the spirit gem could act as witness). So when she brings Mora home, she admits to them what she did, but also admits that she deeply regrets it and wants to fix things as best as she can. Some are reluctant to believe her given her past actions, but Tootsie will more than likely back Alej.

Mora gets better, Alej apologizes, and the two reconcile for a happy ending.

    2ND POSSIBILITY:

It’s also possible that the spirit gem won’t activate right away after Alej realizes what she’s done as seen here. Instead, Alej will do her best to help Mora, and it’s not until Mora is well and forgives Alej that Alej realizes she needs to let go of her past grudges and forgive Mora as well. Once Mora and Alej forgive each other and clear the slate, the spirit gem activates: having reached maturity.

Also, if Alej gets into trouble with the cops because of this, odds are she will be released when Mora drops all charges.

If I am incorrect on this, then it will be interesting to see what DOES happen.

    Your move Gonzalo!

    • Lizzy

very convincing predictions! I didn’t even notice the change in Alejandra’s text bubbles until you pointed it out. we’ll see what happens.

        Tsk tsk tsk.

With a keen eye for details: One Truth Prevails!

Also, look at the color of Alej’s speech bubbles over the past few pages.

    • Albert

Not bad. The only problem about your second possibility though is that of she gets in trouble with the police for what she did she will be ruined. The board will use this against her to show that she is no longer fit to run the company. So this will have to end with no one telling anyone about what happened. I just realized something though, Randal is going to have the hardest time forgiving her for this. Mora was practically their sister and he isn’t going to like this at all. First she nearly bulldozed their mother’s grave and now she hit Mora over the head. No matter what people on this site say Randal’s opinion is very important to her and he won’t forgive this so easily. He won’t be congratulating her.

This chick is nuts! She’ll blame Mora for everything.

  • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

I must now applaud Alejandra for delivering the blow of righteousness that Mora has been building up towards receiving via her bad karma for a long, LONG time.

This will sound horrible, but this made me smile-on a level, Mora has finally “paid the piper” due to her past actions and I feel a cathartic release from my growing anger of a fictional bovine. She has finally been given some karmic backlash and it is GLORIOUS!

    • Albert

So where is Alej’s punishment for her cruelty and thoughtless behavior? For all the things she has done over the years. All the heads she stepped on to get to the top? The deceitful way she does business. Hatred of her father and physically tormenting Mora at every turn and almost destroying Diana’s grave in her quest for power? And attacking an unarmed person in the back of the head when they weren’t looking? Where is her karmic backlash? You keep talking about what Mora did and ignoring all the bad things Alej has done in her life and what she did to Mora is just one more thing to add to the list. What Mora has done can be argued against and is mostly people’s opinion. Nothing Alej has done is forgivable or justified and cannot be opinionated. It’s just bad no matter how you try to spin it.

      • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

I think coming from a broken family, being abandoned, having her mother-figure die alone and abandoned by her blood relations, nudity in front of a major audience, (including Miles) a Spirit Gem that refuses to work, and the board of directors turning on her is more than enough karmic punishment.

    • revilnemesis3

      Karma for what?

      • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

Leaving her loved ones without a word, not being there when her mother died, the shit she’s pulled on Miles, the shit she’s pulled on Rachel, the unfair advantages she’s received in return for boinking the Crest of Earth, the self-superiority that she feels he KNOWS what’s right…

Seriously, if it wasn’t for how protective she is of Digit, I’d have written this comic off outright once the bare-knuckle knock-down with Rachel happened.

      • revilnemesis3

@ MaveriKat If you want to talk about karma Rachael had that coming.

      • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

@ revilnemesis3 yeah, Rachel had her need for a smack upside the head but it felt hypocritical that MORA was the one to deliver it via a drawn out fight over being pissed about Minos enjoying Rachel’s attention.

However, I notice you did not disagree about Miles. :3

      • revilnemesis3

@ MaveriKat and getting hit with a gun is better then that how and how is it hypocritical that it was from Mora?

Well Miles is a grey area and Mora wasn’t the only one to beat the crap out of him, also like 90% of the time Miles had it coming you will have to give a specific example

      • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

@ revilnemesis3 Exactly. However, Miles started off getting the beatings BEFORE he started to act an ass… unless we count his time in college, then Mora kidnapping him is a start of his Karmic retribution. But yeah, Miles does seem to get what’s coming more often than not. At least things are going smoother for him as of late–I do hope he gets his plane going.

  • http://laslindas.katbox.net/ SteelWings

I guess she *puts his glasses on* finialy knocked some sence into her

    • revilnemesis3

Uh, Mora was trying to fix things.

      • Albert

Yes, thank you. Mora was already to apologize and work things out and Alej did this. It’s amazing how none of the Mora haters seem to have noticed this. You are so busy wanting to see something bad happen to her that you haven’t even realized that. Is that what you people do? Someone comes to apologize and make amends for what they did and you hit them when they aren’t looking? Someone comes up to your face and puts out their hand in friendship and peace and you punch them in the gut? She held out an olive branch of peace and Alej hit her with it. And this is the mature and better person Alej is supposed to be.

    • Rother011

      YEAHHHHHHH!

  • Albert

@ MaveriKat says. Nope that is not enough. Coming from a broken home and losing a mother figure was before she became the way she was so that wasn’t karma. Nudity in front of an audience was an accident not a punishment and the Spirit Gem isn’t working because of her own attitude, no other reason why. It wasn’t given to her to punish her, it was given to inspire her.Her mental torment was of her own doing. She however has physically attacked Mora on purpose throughout the whole comic. What Mora did was unknowing and unintentional. What else you got?

    • Kobra

Actually she has only physically attacked her just now. Not before.

      • revilnemesis3

I think he was talking about the machinery that grabbed Mora.

    • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

Well, there’s also how the writers love to use Alej as the chewtoy, but you can’t admit to that one in-story.

As for other reasons this was karmic backlash, I already brought up Mora’s treatment of other people who work for her, so even if the events are not specifically related to Alej, the busty bovine has had this coming from overall karma.

  • Albert

Oh yeah and the board wouldn’t have turned on her if she was acting sane and not like a psycho. All her doing not karma. It could have all been avoided if she didn’t act like a childish, maladjusted psycho all the time. Doing something to someone intentionally isn’t karma. If something fell from the sky and hit Mora her on the head THAT is karma. If I walk up to you and bash you in the head with a baseball bat you can’t call that karma. Alej did all these things to herself and could have avoided them by letting go of her anger and bitterness. But she choose to wallow in them instead and that had nothing to do with Mora

  • aiarashi

Well, Alejandra’s eyes are clearly shut in the fourth panel, which means she was probably not going for the head and just swung blindly at Mora; that means she’s probably not as crazed as it seems. lol

Anyways, I can already see it coming, she sees the wrong of her ways because of pure “My God! What have I done?” shock. She repents and cries and says she’s sorry. Then the power of love lets the spirit gem awaken, and then it uses nano-machines or something to heal Mora on the spot. Then Alej apologizes and this arc is finally over. New Villain, please? owo

    • Neku

Like the chairmen that threatened to remove Alej from play. Alej’s wild drive from poverty to riches may soon be replaced by methodical logic that takes advantage of a now-strong base to threaten Mora’s farm. [/guess]

  • aiarashi

Oh and Alej’s expression in the last panel. Freakin’ adorable! x3333

  • +1 Bard

Oh my god They killed Mora!

  • Steve

Well Patches lost it and now she’s in a deeper hole than ever. Lost her friend(Tooties), lost her company(almost) and finally hit her rival friend’s head(Mora.) Now the main subject is will Mora go into a coma or have amnesia or will she press charges against Patches. Side note that the people that are on Patches’s side needs to get their had check(esp on Thor which he/she needs to step down on the high horse of the Patriot Act no offense, but opened minded won’t hurt before jumping to conclusions so fast.) Patches needs therapy ASAP and needs to be in a support group now. I hope that Mora is alright even though she is thickskulled sometimes, but she’s still a “cow person.”

    • Albert

I agree with you. I am sure Alej didn’t do it on purpose but that is really no excuse for what she did. I think that people are not outraged mostly for what happened to Mora but the fact that people keep saying that what Alej did was okay and they would have done the same. I wouldn’t be friends with anyone who believes that it is okay to bash me over the head just because I made them angry.Mora has all the right to be angry over this and now has the power to send Alej to jail which would complete the downward spiral of her now wretched life.I especially agree with the ridiculous excuses people are making like Thor saying that Mora was kidnapping Alej. Where did that come from? If you are going to argue a point don’t start making up stuff. At what point in the comic was she kidnapping her? Did she put her in a arm lock and drag her away or put a black bag over her head or hit her over the head and drag her unconscious body away?

      • Bolt

Actually, the accusation of kidnapping isn’t made up at all in this situation. Mora may not have been strong-arming Alej like the examples you gave, but taking someone by the wrist and dragging them along to someplace against their wishes (as evidenced by Alej’s insistence to be left alone in prior strips, which also provides grounds for the trespassing accusation made earlier) is kidnapping, no matter how good the intentions of the kidnapper. And I certainly hope Mora doesn’t wake up and try to send Alej to jail over it. Self-defense arguments aside, that would be in incredibly poor taste since Mora did the exact same thing to Miles and is still walking free. Like it or not, ya have to admit to the hypocrisy in that outcome.

And I wouldn’t call this “clubbing someone over the head just because they made you angry”. Alej hit a Despair Event Horizon. Yes, she has her part in many of her current problems, but in her mind, Mora is to blame for her losing *everything*. Her home (what she considers Las Lindas during Diana’s time), her family (with Mora ditching them, Diana dying, and Randall wandering off), her prosperity (being shown up at the Festival and winning the High Prime’s favor almost instantly), her company (again, in her mind)…The only thing left she had any attachment to was Toots, so when it seemed like Mora had taken her too, she snapped, if only for a moment. Not saying the attack was right, mind you, but it’s most certainly understandable.

On that note…anyone else notice her speech bubbles finally return to pure white at the end there? Yay for moments of clarity!

  • Bleu_Ace

To be honest, I am disappointed with the arguments that are going on in here. It’s a damn comic. If Chalo killed off Mora (the MAIN character of Las Lindas) then..well..it’d be over. That’s that.

I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but to be honest, I’m just going to sit here and wait. I’m not going to argue who is in the right or wrong on this, because that is asinine since we’ll find out next week.

    • http://deviantart.com Philly

maybe mora went to a coma?

      • Bleu_Ace

Seriously. I doubt she’d be in a coma either. The hit was hard, yes, but it was a ‘YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT’ hit. Coma would be if she had her skull split open.

      • Bleu_Ace

I’m saying this as a biology major..that hit probably just knocked Mora out cold. She’ll be okay.

  • Vincent

I have mixed feelings about this… I wanted Mora to get some karma for the past but not physically like this, Alej is overstepping some boundaries and she better feel sorry (she’s still my favorite female character, sorry). I hope Mora isn’t dead in the long run too, but it’d be funny if she lost her memory or stayed in a coma. WHAT A TWIST!

  • Never here

OK let me, an unknown commenter on the internet weigh in on the situation.
Honestly, I saw this coming a few strips ago, so I’m not really surprised.
Both characters made a mistake here *lowers flameshield*, but I’m putting more blame on Mora here. I’m not saying that she deserved the hit, but she should’ve known better. She should have really noticed what she was saying, and should have been more careful around Alej. Alej snapped a gun in half right in front of her, and it didn’t faze her. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if she even noticed. That’s what I mostly see about Mora in this comic: she never notices the little things around her. Once again, I’m not saying she deserved the hit, but she missed some HUGE warning signs throughout the conversation.
Now then, on to Alej. She’s at her lowest, and can’t do anything but watch as everything she worked for crumbles all around her, and she can trace (is that the right word?) it to one person. Said person is right in front of her. Can’t really blame her much if she does something rash. I’m even surprised she held on for so long (but the whole demolish thing didn’t help matters either). Was she right in doing it? Nope. Justified? Hell no. But I can’t put all of the blame on her. I bet she blacked out when she snapped. Just heard Tootsie’s name and one crazy thought leads to another then etc…
But it seems she regained her senses by the end of it. Let’s hope angst doesn’t seep in and make her do something else she’d regret.
Now then, fan reaction. I think I get the gist of both sides. People have the right to cheer at an opponent’s downfall. I bet people were enjoying Alej’s downward spiral, same with Miles getting chewed out, etc. We all have the right to cheer when that happens, so I see no problem with it. BUT even if it is wrong, talking down to someone will have no effect. In fact, the opposite will happen. We’re all stubborn. Chances are no one will listen. I’m not saying one shouldn’t do it, BUT make sure one understands before one argues.
Knee jerk reactions help no-one, In comic or in real-life.

    TL:DR
    IN OTHER NEWS:
I chuckled. For a split second, I though Alej was going to go all crazy on us or something. And I also felt a cathartic response to the whole thing. Since I know nothing permanent is going to happen, I feel justified.

    TL:DR of TL:DR

Why are ther Mora lovers and alejandra haters, and the other way around?

I think that Rachael is the best character, even though she is not a main character, she makes alot of sense in what she is doing.

  • Smartkittykhan

OK, I think we can agree that Alej has gone a tad bonkers.

I’m on both sides of the fence here. They both have flaws, but the pure fans of both need to step down a notch and notice the littlest details. Patches needs to shut up and listen to Mora and know what Tooties plan is. And Mora need to stop with the “ego flexing” at her since it was inherited from her Mother and she did her “ways” of getting helpers for her farm. While Patches did it the hard way and knows the consequences of losing her job and friend. Her brain is nothing but $$$ and not on companionship with her friend.

the writing in the comic is grade A. look at all these comments. everyone is invested in one way or another. the characters are realistic and behave in a realistic manner as well as being individuals. if Hollywood wrote stories half as good as this comic, the box office would be making 5 to 10x the amount they make now. i can’t wait to see where this goes.

There is a saying that, sometimes, before someone can turn themselves around, they first have to hit rock bottom.

    Alej just did.

Now you can rant and rave about justice and right or wrong, but his is the most human scene ever done in this comic. the most real, the most visceral, and the most true.

“Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.”

The temptation, the desire, the need to condemn and pillory Alej is a an understandable one.

It’s the easy way out. Its so easy to hate.

The problem is that what Alej probably – probably so as not daring speak for the author – needs right now is the last thing most folks would grant her.

    Not forgiveness.

    But compassion.

  • Albert

@ Bolt. You people never did literature when you were in school and had to pick apart a situation from a book did you? Look at the first panel. Alej was getting complacent and Mora was holding her hand in friendship guiding her away. Have you never had a friend in the middle of an emotional situation hold your hand a guide you somewhere? There was no sign that she was forcing Alej anywhere, no resistance or sign that she was dragging her anywhere. People read the comic and completely misread just about everything about it. She didn’t hit Mora in self defense she hit her in a psychotic rage.

The fact that people can somehow transform a obvious effort for a friend to make amends into trying to make Mora look a criminal is beyond me. Is that what people would do if they were in a situation like this? Try to palm off responsibility on the person you wronged by making up stories about kidnapping and trespassing? Also I don’t see how people can condone what they keep calling a ‘knee jerk response’ A knee jerk response is hitting someone over the head so hard they lose consciousness? I have flown into rages and done things but never to the point of damaging the person like this.

So what,is what you people do? Do lethal things to people and say ‘Oops sorry’? Do you grab a knife and stab someone then regret it later? Or run someone down with a car? Or burn their house down? Or shoot them? Or bash them with a lead pipe? Well if so I am glad you people aren’t my friends because I could end up in a coffin because of your ‘knee jerk response’ and you will lie and make things up to cover your asses and ease your conscious by saying I deserved it. I would love for you people to give these half @$$ed excuses to the police or in front of a judge. You would be hauled off to prison so fast.”I was just mad because she did something when I was younger and I thought I was going to lose my only friend and I didn’t know hitting her in the back of the head might have killed her and she was trespassing and the sun was in my eye and no one likes me and my father didn’t love me…….’ Instant strait jacket.

    • Neku

At the risk of sounding like as much of a broken record as you have been this entire page…

“You’re not going to be a hero for trying to shove consideration down peoples’ throats, nor are all the people you’re belittling in the argument truly as low as you make them to be. If you need an analogy, look at everyone who enjoys crime in games like Manhunt, Grand Theft Auto, etc. It’s a game–-not real-–and the pleasure potentially derived from such acts does not always reflect on their real life behaviors. The only difference between such games and Las Lindas is that the characters here can actually be related to as people because they’re given a little more depth. Again, this is not an attack on your thought process. Only reminding you that not everyone will treat characters in a comic as they would other real people.”

      • Stevezor

        What this guy said.

      • Albert

I heard what you said before and at the risk of sounding rude could you get off my case please. I have just as much right to say what I have to say as many times as I want through out the whole comic all day and all night if I want. Notice how I listened to what you had to say and I am no longer talking to you but to other people. I don’t need you to be my referee or police what I say. You have the right to disagree with me all you want but don’t tell me to stop talking or anything. I have always been good at analyzing situations in books and literature and that is the way I am and you don’t have to listen to what I say or anything. You could ignore everything I say. I am not forcing anything on anyone anymore then anyone else who has said anything. Please stop referencing back to me. i am speaking to other people not you. Not trying to be the hero just pointing out that cheering on someone who did something so obviously fucked up is idiot. That is a fact, not opinion, not sentiment, not heroism it’s just plan ignorant. Everyone in that situation would not do this it’s just the crazy people saying that. Anyone saying that this is right is not right in the head.

@ Stevezor all the people who have done that are in jail or a mental hospital. anyone would not do this just people like you. If your anger level is at the point where you will hurt anyone around you then you are a very anti social person. I have never flown off the handle to this level and I have hated many people in my life for what they have done to me. You can call me names, say I am, exaggerating or self righteous or say it’s just a comic but it doesn’t change your response this and it shows the level instability people have reached where they think this is understandable and I see it all the time. I suppose if she buried her in the backyard so she wouldn’t get in trouble you would find some excuse why that is right too? Anyway no more posting for me. I have made my point and good luck with the belief that doing things like this when your angry is okay.If you ever reach that point I hope you can give these same excuses to everyone why you did what you did.

      • Neku

Except it -is- an opinion, it -is- trying to be the hero by forcing people to try to view fictional characters in the same light as they would real people (and not the good kind. Read: Jack Thompson), and you are trying to exaggerate people’s reactions of fiction into extreme cases that work in your argument’s favor. This isn’t about your ability to analyze the literature. It’s your god complex about morals that’s becoming a bother.
Don’t believe me? Look what you wrote below your response to me. Comparing yourself to others and flat-out saying “You are this” just because you -think- it due to someone’s reaction to a -fictional event-. I’m quite shocked that someone as smart as you would be willing to be so blind about your own actions. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad you want things to run smoothly and pacifically. But to turn around and, again, shove that down the throats of others kind of betrays the ideal.

  • Stevezor

Well, first off, they’re both being stupid. Let’s get that out of the way.

I do think Alej has a good reason to be pissed tho, and that Mora keeps pestering her would piss anyone off, as well as being overshadowed. So yes, all that frustration, while I don’t agree with it, in the same situation, anyone would do the same. Don’t lie.

that and the bitch deserved it.

    • revilnemesis3

      And no more comic

  • Albert

@ Neku.If people don’t actually believe what they are saying then they are simply trolling then. But I am simply saying that if anyone here really thinks that doing something like this is natural then you should really check up on what kind of person you are. I am sure when Chalo wrote this he mean to show that Alej has reached a point where she has done something beyond wrong and has crossed into psychotic madness. But I am just amazed about how people can manipulate something so obvious and somehow turn it around into something that can be justified. You are over analyzing me. I have no god complex or have the need to force my morals down anyone’s throat.

You don’ HAVE to listen to anything I say. My point is to show the decline of morals of people no matter what the situation. I have had similar arguments posting on other sites with people and I am amazed in what people have declared to be right and the level they defend it. If something is wrong it’s wrong and somehow people have this idea that if they make enough excuses and spin it enough it somehow become passable. I may come on too strong, I admit that but the vast decline of morals in any situation is happening too frequently. If you relate to a situation whether real or fictional and adapt the negative view of it then it translates to what kind of personality you have. You respond that way because that is how you are. I know no one ever wants to admit it but these words would never have been written if you didn’t facilitate the violence you are excusing.Meaning that if you were ever in this situation you would think you were in the right no matter what. It’s like sitting down with my friends in Trinidad listening to who they would kill or stab if anyone ever got in their way.If you can’t even realize something wrong even when the author makes it so obvious then you analytical skills are way off. It’s not even like Magneto where you can argue that what he is doing is righteous. She did the worst thing she has ever done since the comic introduced her and people defend it trying to make Mora the bad guy.

    • RoslynDrey

Your post made me think about how the Nazis used to justify their war and the other psychological tactics people have used over the years in lieu of reasoning their thoughts or actions for want of objectifying something/someone they “like” or adore.

      Do you study psychology?

      • Albert

Wait. Are you comparing me to a Nazi? You do realize that violence in any form is violence right? Whether fiction or real whether with made up characters or not your reaction and how you relate to it is still real. The people who write these things have put real personalities and real situations into their work. The way you react to it says something about you whether you want to admit it or not. If people can’t see the wrong in something so simple and obvious then that says a lot about you, that you may have trouble distinguishing wrong from right because I don’t see how bashing someone over the head from behind with full force suddenly seems to be the right thing to do and can be excused in any way. People are even making up weird reasons why it is right when it clearly isn’t. I am not saying you would do this for sure but it makes me wonder if some of you guys probably have people in your basement from when you ‘got angry’ or had a ‘knee jerk reaction’

    • RoslynDrey

I wasn’t comparing you to a Nazi. :B; I was, in a round about way, agreeing with your statement towards how people are acting towards Mora and Alejandra.

  • Brown Claw

Quick, get rid of the evidence!

  • RoslynDrey

Hmm….there’s a lot of speculation over Mora’s condition in regards to being cracked upside the head with a rifle stock. For a human being that sort of force the the back of the cranium could result in severe medical problems such as, black outs, coma, death…etc.

Now Mora and Alej are bovine. Their heads are much thicker than ours. Ever had to deal with a cow? Most cows barely feel anything if you even punch them in the flank. The hit will startle them, but no real damage is done since their skin is very thick and the area has a lot of fat or muscle to take the blow. Many farmers are known to use bats since it will garner more attention from the cow and those few farmers feel electric shock to be inhumane. (other farmers use shock since they feel the opposite and prefer an approach they deem as more efficient…yadda yadda. There are many arguments for this.) For larger bovines one could break a well made wooden bat over their skull and the cow would be scared or very annoyed …..never smack a bull lest you risk being gored/trampled/both. Pain is registered on that, but nothing overly serious most times. Cows are damn sturdy creatures. Hit one with a car and while you’re desperately looking for evac they’re shaking it off and walking away to nom some grass….I’ve seen it. Not all cases are like that, but most.

Since Mora an Alej are fictional characters with human attributes I’m guessing that we’ll either see that Mora black/passed out….or we get a nice hospital scene with an Alejandra who feels like little more than a knat for what she did.

My question is what will happen when the rest of the crew finds out…?

dang thor even for a joke thats real dark humor there

    • Thor

Yeah, but it’s totally plausible. Here’s my prediction for the next strip:

Tormented by the awful knowledge of the murder she just committed, Alej’s mind fully snaps. We next see her at Las Lindas, attempting to impersonate Mora while wearing her as a skin-suit.

And the twist? No one else notices the difference, though some of them start smelling something that causes them to crave hamburger.

It’s a classy wacky setup with loads of future comic potential. I’m totally calling this.

      • MadLarry

That would be both really messed up and totally hilarious.

      • guest

I’m not sure whether to put the X before or after the D, so… DXD
ROFLMAO, that’s the best. I think maybe she could just get a Mora-like suit and everyone believes she’s Mora then Mora comes in but nobody quite realizes that there are two of them because they never meet so Alej keeps impersonating Mora and there are lots of plot twists. Yes. No need to take that poor woman’s hide.

      • guest

post script: (Example for setup above: Say Taff asks Mora’s darkest secret at a slumber party and Mora says she has to go and goes to the bathroom. Then Alej/”Mora” slams open the door and says something like “I hate happy people.” Then she goes to her room. And everybody stares at Mora when she comes down, but they can’t bring themselves to talk about it.)

      • Lowell

        Plausible? I don’t think so.

Alej may be crazy or in need of help and companionship but she’s definitely not a sick pervert who would have the gall to wear another person’s skin. That’s just gross and impractical, even as a joke from you. It is more likely that Alej’s head cool down a bit after realizing that she bludgeoned Mora at the back of her head and show regret for her actions.

She might lament over her actions and chalo might shed a bit more light on her feelings and past. Somewhat predictable, yes but much more likely than wearing a dead person’s skin and impersonating Mora.

      • Lowell

Even if Alej’s mind did snap, a suicide or rushing to bury the body is much more likely than wearing another person’s skin.

I don’t think that it would be a classy or a wacky setup with future potential. In another comic setting and a better, cleaner alternative to the skin suit, then it might have potential.

One example would be like a soul was searching for its original body but got trapped in another recently dead person. Although this idea has been tried once in manga.

  • Radical Gopher

Message to Leandro: That’s LATTER…not LADDER! (I wrung my hands over whether to comment or not, but the language cop in me won out.) I wouldn’t worry about Mora. Anyone with horns that large growing out of her head has to have a thick skull.

    • Radical Gopher

Oops! Just realized that Alej is the one with big horns. Maybe it is time to worry.

  • MarcusDaran

That would be an awesome moment for Ambar to show up “hhheeeeeeyyy high prime, whats up? please dont mind the dead cow on the floor, did I told you how much i love the useless blue gem you game me?”

  • Thor

Kidnapping is not a stretch. Even if we discount Alej, Mora was still making off with the spirit gem, which is either a living person (which Mora just said last comic), or if you don’t buy that, is an exceedingly expensive piece of property — which would make it less kidnapping and more felony theft.

In any event, Mora has does little but commit crimes since she showed up. You can’t help but think that Alej’s actions were fully justified and legal.

    • Thor

This was in reply to someone else up there, but the board assaulted me with 2nd degree misplacement. I’m sure it’s legal, but I’m not sure if the board is justified.

    • Lowell

Not really, because Mora is taking the spirit gem away from Alej on the basis of the gem’s protection.

Suppose you see a child being excessively abused by the parent, it is a natural response to call the authorities, rush to the child’s defense and create a little distance between the child and the parent to protect the child.

That’s not kidnapping, that’s rushing to another person’s defense. Normally the child will be handed over to the authorities and to social services while the parent goes through inquiry/investigation regarding child abuse and may be relieved of his or her child. But that’s a bit off topic.

  • Boobies Galore

Look! Over there! Boobs! *points to the Bonus comic* Let’s discuss boobs now! I like boobs! (because this topic is driving me insane…)

Well … first off, all caps does not help you any.

Yes, I can fully understand Alej’s reaction. In context, it makes perfect sense. She feels like the last thing that was ‘hers’ was taken away. She did a knee jerk reaction, trying to destroy that which took ‘everything’. Not a good one, just that literal ‘spot of rage’ taking over. Then her senses return to her, thus the last two panels. Shock and fear.

Her breaking down here could also be what triggers the Spirit Gem to awaken. To comfort her, and let her know Mora is not “singing with the angels” and all that.

This is potentially her “rock bottom”, and losing the company would be nothing in comparison. It depends on what happens to Mora and how she takes it.

  • Katlamos

First off, caps lock makes you sound retarded and makes anyone sane want to skim over your post as pure trolling, but still, responding for the absurdity.

You can hate someone sure. You can wish death on them. Fine. I have someone who I imagine on the receiving end of a crowbar to the head for how they’ve treated someone close to me. But will I actually ever attack them or hurt them? No.

“Mary Sue” she may be (I don’t really have an opinion or care, tbh), but would you really do that to someone you hate? Would you really cheer on the pain and harm of another individual because you simply have an opinion that you don’t like them? Mora was trying to make amends (in a pretty failing way, but still), and Alej is so lost in her manic depression that she attacks someone only trying to help.

You cheer it on, you’re as messed up as the person wielding the weapon.

  • RoslynDrey

Are you an Invader Zim fan or JTHM fan? *brow arch* On another note…..CAPSLOCK AND BAD GRAMMAR MAKE YOU NO SOUND SMART..

    …just loud….

  • RazorKaru

Hey…hey you…just thought I’d like to point it out that and story of fiction is going to have nothing but mary-sues. There is no such thing as an original character in fiction at all, because the characters have to be based on someone or a multi-tude of people in order to have a moral basis of some sort, a personality, and quite possibly feelings.

Sorry if your trolling ass can’t figure that part of literature out. Mora is made out to be an anti-hero to start. Making mistakes, making the obviously horrible mistakes, fixing things when they break, actually learning to put in hard work, etc etc.

You know, stuff you apparently are too afraid to do and it ticks you off to feel that.

  • XYZD

    GO AWAY, KARKAT

  • celtcath

I am curious? If you hate the main character so much, why do you even read the comic? Logic dictates that your would be happier reading something else. I believe that TV Tropes classifies your reactions as “FAN DUMB”.

  • Kobra

Sorry I’m afraid i do not know of the show of witch you speak.

  • Anonymous

Oh, man, can I just say that I love you??? :3

  • Smartkittykhan

    CAPS LOCK TESTOSTERONE!

  • Xero

Dear Goddess on high Alej! What were you thinking!? She’s trying to help and your to trapped in your on little self pity bubble to see your friends doing their best to try and help you.

  • Spiritwolf15

If you hate the main character of this comic so much why do you continue to read? Surely there are more productive things you could be doing with your time.

  • Albert

He is an idiot obviously. Even if this was justice in some twisted way like I said in my above post she has just screwed herself over royally. Mora could easily charge her for assault and it will give the board of her company more then enough evidence that she needs to put her away and take over the company.Even Tootsie won’t approve of this. It was a dick move and you are talking about ‘justice’? She just flushed her life, her friend and her company down the tube

  • Darkguyver2020

    @ carcinoGeneticist

In all fairness. That little tramp Rachael deserved to get punched for hitting on Mora’s boyfriend. If I was in her shoes, I would have snapped that little slut’s back like a twig.

  • KYamato

That makes some sense, but she already kind of tried to cut ties with Tootsie right? She already though Tootsie betrayed her to the Wolf Guy at the company and basically cut all ties with her. If I remember correctly she accused Tootsie of betraying her in that comic, though I suppose Alej still values her to some extent.

said person you replied to is simply acting like another character from another webcomic who uses all caps as a typing quirk.
I’s funny when you know the context.

  • Actually

… The caps are because that person is talking in character, not because they’re, well, just typing in all caps.

  • Darkguyver2020

    @ anon

Yes. Because everyone here has read that overhyped anal leaking bullshit that is Homestuck. /sarcasm

  • anon

    @dark
yes I am aware, hence the uninformed -serious- responses being made to his posts, hence the link. Obviously nobody should take him seriously, and doing so is both somewhat amusing and facepalm worthy to anyone who knows the context.

  • RoslynDrey

on another note, I just read anon’s post. *shakes head and facepalms*

Despite the attempt at trolling or …being funny…that is in very bad taste to act like a character of one comic to insult another comic.

  • Darkguyver2020

Do people honestly think Chalo is going to kill off Mora? Don’t be absurd. (Though it would be a twist if she did die).

  • RazorKaru

It actually paints one hell of a target on ya.

  • Gryph23

Well yeah, but consider the comic, the character, and the context. >.>

    She’s perfectly safe.

  • Vortigaunt64

Wow Kamina would be proud of your knowledge. Seriously though thats one of my favorite animes

  • Kent

Anti-Hero usually implies a “Hero” using dark and grim tactics to win the day. Often said in the same way one would refer to a Vigilante(Batman cough cough).

But, the logic is sound. The source of many of her problems is her own personality. Some of the problems caused, that while resolved, still left the ‘core’ problem intact. Until that core problem is adjusted, problems will continue.

As to the cast, I would not say they “love” her, but rather stay there for their own reasons as well as the fact its started to become a place that feels like “home”. Neither would I say any of them truly “hate” her, though they may not get along well with her at times, I wouldn’t go as far as to say Hate.
It seems, as is quite obvious from this strip, that she has a Love Hate relationship with Mora. This of course is what makes their relationship so so messed up.

It seems that in ways she has a Love/Hate relationship in regards to Mora. This of course is what makes their relationship so very messed up. This is also what makes seeing the two of them interact so interesting!

  • Kent

Ugh, somehow the post got messed up and can’t edit.

After the bit about “say Hate”, this is what would finish it out.

It seems that in ways she has a Love/Hate relationship in regards to Mora. This of course is what makes their relationship so very messed up. This is also what makes seeing the two of them interact so interesting!

That’s all that should be there. Sorry for the mess.

  • anon

I lol at people still replying to him like he’s serious XD
scroll up a bit to my last post and you’ll understand what I mean~

(but seriously with post content like that how are people falling for this?)

  • IslaKariese

Unfortunately, there have been authors who have killed the main character (or someone very close to the main character or central to the plot) in an insane twist. Whether it works out depends on the story and author themselves, but tragedy is really effective fuel if done right.

Fortunately, this doesn’t seem to be heading in that particular direction. We’re looking for Alej to get better, and that won’t happen even a fraction as smoothly and thoroughly if she’s accidentally killed Mora in a fit of rage. Maiming her hasn’t helped, fuck no, but killing her would tip Alej even further off the deep end.

  • Xero

Also Karkat I think gamzee ran out of pies again, he was last spotted at 2kinds and is moving fast.

  • Alternative

Dangit, i was gonna say the same thing :P
