      Uhm… Ol’ Chalodillo’s been at this fer a while, I’m sure that if he’s made it this far he’s got a fairly thick skin.but what is needed is CONSTRUCTIVE technical criticism. Sure, love and hate the characters, that’s what they’re there for. And of course, love or hate the story arc, that’s your prerogative. but unless you have suggestions that actually HELP the artist develop their skillset, griping about the end product is really just blowing smoke.( digitally of course) I for one am enjoying the comic even if the plot is a little predictable. It makes me laugh, and I like Chalos technique. I’ve read the comic from the beginning and I admire the amount of refinement he’s put into his art over the course of the story. I also envy his talent…. A lot. Now it probably sounds like I’m trying to brownnose, gods I’ve just reread this and that’s what it sounds like to me. But I’m sure that if everyone here has been reading the comic this far, it can’t really be all that awful.

      I think it has been said many times before, the story in this comic is horrible, it is just one tired cliche after ‘nother. Hell, the “mah daddy is an evil super Sajan” was pretty much the worst of all. Not only was it just dumb and came out of nowhere, but it was nothing more than a cheap gimmick to make us feel sorry for a character who was nothing but a massive bag of bitch. An people were actually stupid enough to fall for it. I’m not attacking Chalo’s art, hell not at any point was I even saying the art was bad. An frankly, whenever people critiqued the story, they got beaten down and said that they are just jealous haters. Finally, let’s face it, people are just reading this comic for one reason: Tits and ass.

      I think Rascals is kinda on a different level. An yeah, it’s bad, REALLY bad. But that comic and ther author least know they are making just fanservice (or well,cheescake for sake of chees cake), and kinda at times feels tongue and cheek (almost like a cheesie B-movie.) But the issue with Las Lindas is that is takes every bad cliche, rolls with and tracks to act all serious and dramatic. An it just ends up being laughable at best.

I had a feeling something like this would happen. Honestly, I find this page to be pretty cute, even with Rachael still beating his ass. The way this page ties into an older conversation they had, but now ending on a softer note, brought a smile to my face. I like now we can see Rachael starting to cool down now that her anger has been let out. Kudos to Miles here, I’m seeing some much needed character develoupment from him. Even if he still isn’t my favourite character and I don’t want to see these two hook up, I really want them to become friends. People really love to hate Rachael because of her aggressiveness, but she isn’t an self-centered bitch or a bully or anything. Perhaps being protective of yourself and being selfish can been seen as going hand in hand. But Miles brought this upon himself and I’m really glad he’s one to not only handle her aggressive and stubborn behavior, but accepts it, too. +1up

Actually, Rachel is protective for selfish reasons; she wants Sarah to stay with her. Hell, she’s even “protecting” her from the truth. What else would you call not letting Sarah know her family was going to get her from the orphabage?
The only time Rachel acted selflessly was when she rescued Digit, not willing to let Sarah carry the guilt of murder.

  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to say all of Rachael’s actions are justified because they aren’t. She’s a very flawed character and has her share of mistakes, but I still love her a lot. She was a child when she ran away with Sarah, she didn’t have the mind of an adult so she couldn’t comprehend the seriousness of what she had done. Rachael grew up with no responsible influences and has always had to make decisions for herself and for Sarah. This is why when she realized she had kidnapped Sarah she had the mindset that there was nothing to do but keep on running and never get caught. It’s not because she doesn’t want Sarah to be happy, she just can’t wrap her mind around staying in one place forever. Rachael does need to own up to her mistake of not telling Sarah the truth and I’m sure Sarah will eventually find out. Rachael loves Sarah more than anyone, so of course it makes her want to protect her more than anyone. This does make her selfish on some levels, but I would say that about any other person who cares for someone else the way she does. Rachael isn’t an angel, but I find it easier to understand why she acts the way she does if I put myself in her shoes. That’s just the way I try to analyze characters.

I expected him to at least fight back and show that he saw her as an equal but instead he just came up with some corny ‘I like you the way you are’ line? Now why would he do that? As how they are, do you really think miles could outdo Rachel? She basically more fit than Moral is and Miles (at least I think) isn’t a fighter…. not much of one. And besides, by keeping his composure, Miles has a sort of, a mental win than a physical win. If he were to beat her physically, that would be like letting the coyote catch the road runner.

You see what this did is show that Miles doesn’t really think much of Rachael at all.If he really respected her he wouldn’t do do this whole take all her punches thing but instead fight her properly to show that she was worth a damn and he saw her as his equal. But instead he just made it seem that Rachael is just only worth joking around with and not to be taken seriously.To add insult to injury he made it seem that he was just doing all this to catch her off guard at her weakest moment so he could hit on her.He just made her look stupid. It would have been better if he got some hits in to knock some sense into her like what happened to Mora. Those fights and did wonders for her and made her realize that she needs to turn her life around. But now instead Miles is now her enabler trying to make what she is doing is alright.Mora’s friends and family made it clear that they didn’t like how she was behaving and would have no part in it unless she changed her ways.     Miles was expecting a rough sparring match, instead Rachel goes straight for the head, barely (if at all) holding back. He was caught off guard and the moment he gets up and tells her to go on she delivers another quick combo.
    Miles isn’t taking hits to catch her off guard or because he only wants to joke around with her. The reason why he didn’t hit her is because he is just severely outclassed by her and didn’t had the time or chance yet to even try hitting her.

I rather like this pairing, because I see similarities (good and bad) in the two that just make them click to me, but I gotta agree with you as far as action and how things are presented. Miles is taking it like a chump, getting his ass totally whooped, elbow to the mastoid, Christ. Maybe the dude can’t fight, and it’s clear Rachael can, but he could at least bob and weave, maybe throw a few punches, or as you said, put her in a take down or something and then give the whole ‘I like you’ thing. I think she’d give him more respect if he gave her a good fight than if he just laid down and took it like a bitch.

I say Miles pretty much won this round.

One, for actually developing some character and being straight up honest about his feelings for her.

Two, the fact that Rachel tries so hard to push everyone away, and the one guy who doesn’t give in and confessed his feelings first instead of the other way around like she did with Minos, and got a serious backlash with some drama. Because of this, despite her response in the last panel, she has NO idea what to do in this situation, and is at a loss for words.

Now I’m not sure what will happen in the next update, but if there’s one thing I’d actually hope for Rachel, is that she tries to open up little by little, and not feel like everyone is out to get her, or turned on her like she thinks Sarah has, because the one person who’s not like that, even though it was from an unexpected character is standing right there in the room who can relate to her.

But that’s just my best-case scenario. I’m prepared for the complete opposite. XD

I’m gonna say it, “not taking Mora’s shit”, that sounds like “you don’t like being disciplined”. If you disagree, explain to me why Rachel should be rewarded for trying to steal from Mora three times.

Now Miles has a valid reason for hating Mora. Although it doesn’t excuse his lack of work ethics. Rachel however, she’s just petty.
Sarah pointed it out a few pages ago, she and Rachel are very lucky to still have a job after nearly killing Digit and destroying half the farm. And Rachel does deserve punishment for that incident. If she had raised Sarah a little better, maybe she wouldn’t have been as naïve. So yeah, it’s high time for Rachel, and Miles, to grow up.

Why does Rachael deserve punishment for saving digit again? Maybe I messed something up, but I’m pretty sure Rachael saved that digit-interface-thingy from sinking to the ground of the well because she didn’t want Sarah being expelled from the farm.

  Saving Digit did grant Rachel one more chance to redeem herself in Mora’s eyes (which she’s wasting). Rather, Rachel deserves punishment for allowing the whole disaster for happening in the first place. I’l explain.
  
  Let’s consider that Mora doesn’t know of Jin and Din’s existence (a fact I’d admittedly forgotten until now). As far as she knows, Sarah found something cool and decided to use it to play pretend. Now, Rachel has been the one in charge of Sarah’s upbringing, and as Ambar pointed out during her visit, she has been quite neglectful. Conclusion, Rachel is to blame for Sarah’s behavior, and therefore deserves the punishment she got.
  As spectators, we know that Sarah was tricked. Should Rachel still be punished? The way I see it, yes. As I’ve often said, Rachel didn’t allow Sarah to have the experiences that harden us and reduce our naivetë. Sarah remained a child too long, and had to learn the hard way that there are people out there willing to take advantage of the innocent.

      To that i say it wasn’t just about sex it was about Taffy not showing her supposed love for Miles at all. When they finally broke up she went on about how she “adored and idolized” Miles but when did she ever show it. you know like made a piece of cake of hugged him and told him thank for all he was doing for her or that she loved him. When during their entire “relastionship” did she express these feeling. Therefore it wasn’t just a lack of intimacy but little to expression of love from Taffy is the reason they broke up. I would also like to point out that their are plenty of men and women who have ended relationship for this very reason so people need to get off Miles’s back!

      Not what he said…at all really. I’ll play translator even if I don’t fully agree with them, I think I still follow. Relationships require both people being willing to be with the other. In the Taffy/miles on, Miles didn’t feel he had enough affection to justify the relationship, so he broke it off. And there is nothing wrong with that, once you stop seeing it as relating to sex and gender issue bullshit and see it more as simply how relationships actually work. People have expectations and desires for their relationships and sometimes the one they are with doesn’t meet them. For miles, who probably equates sex with love and affection, and probably saw the withholding of it as a slow death of the relationship, it came to the point where he felt the relationship was either dead already or just not worth continuing so broke it off.
      
      You can try to make it seem like the character was after only sex, and is thus evil for breaking a relationship off for not getting it, but in doing so, think of what that implies. Should someone be in a relationship that doesn’t meet their expectations or desires to the point beyond where they are willing to compromise what they want from a relationship in the first place? Should he have stuck with Taffy and be unhappy and keep hoping for the affection he wanted? Doesn’t seem right to either of them.
      
      Merely writing it off as “sex vending machines blahblahblah” is just wrong. It dismisses any desires or wants from half the relationship as unimportant when a relationship requires at least some to be meet for them to be happy in the relationship and it presents a dishonest representation of the situation that actively shames any idea about sex having importance to relationships, when that idea is individualizes to each person and what they feel is important to them. For Miles, sex was. For Taffy, it wasn’t. Seeing that difference of values as a dead end and ending a relationship over that dead end was understandable in that regard.

Honestly I’m a bit disappointed that his reaction wasn’t more… Realistic.

Most people in his situation would have been terrified, and traumatised; that would have been a far more interesting story arc than this, in my opinion.

1. Miles is terrified of Rachel but he’s too ashamed to tell anyone what happened, Rachel slowly begins to feel overwhelming guilt for what she’s done, then one of two things happen.
Rachel confesses what she did to Sarah, needing someone to talk to; Sarah is shocked and asks Miles whether it’s true, Miles begrudgingly confirms, and somehow he and Sarah end up in a relationship (whether or not it’s going to turn out well).

2. Miles panickily avoids Rachel well enough that she doesn’t even realise the impact her actions had on Miles, and Sarah notices this behaviour and presses him to tell her; when he caves in and tells her what happened, Sarah cracks the ever-loving shits at Rachel for the first time, Rachel breaks down emotionally both due to the confrontation of her and Sarah’s vastly changed relationship, and the shocking realisation of how much harm she caused Miles, while also discovering she had completely misjudged his intent.
Sarah helps Rachel make it up to Miles, and she slowly regains his trust, eventually beginning an extremely strong relationship due to the hardship they have already overcome.

However, this is a feel-good sort of comic, so I’m not surprised you went with the feel-good plot.

Miles, props to you for being a big man and finally approaching your feelings in a mature manner rather than looking simply for sex and your own pleasure. However, I’m just kind of disappointed that you’d let a woman beat you up. Physical abuse, be it against a man or woman, anybody really, is wrong. And furthermore, have you not noticed that Rachael, while she does take care of herself and look out for Sarah, does it purely out of SELFISH reasons?
She takes care of Sarah not just because she loves her as a sister, but also because she was too selfish to let Sarah have a loving family and leave her alone in the first place. While I can understand not wanting to be alone, I would at LEAST let the other person be happy! I wouldn’t try to hold them back from getting what they want and need in life just because it’s not what will make me happy!
Rachael’s idea of ‘looking out for herself’ is simply avoiding what makes her angry or upset, and when she can’t, she turns violent (punching Miles, fighting with Mora, beating up whatever happens to be within punching/kicking range, really). She says she prefers being free, but really what she’s saying is “I want things to go MY way and if they don’t then I’ll run away or give people hell for not giving me what I want.” That’s what we saw when she couldn’t have Minos, after all. Mora caught her going after her boyfriend and tried to put a stop to it, so instead of being a ‘big girl’ and simply moving on, what’s Rachael do? Automatically assume that Mora is a spoiled bitch and doesn’t deserve anything she has, and fights with her. All the wants is to be right 100% of the time and get EVERYTHING she wants.
The real proof of that is Rachael pushing people away. She didn’t want Miles, and she wants to be right about his personality, so she punches, kicks, and verbally tries to shove him away. Heaven forbid that Miles can be a decent person, and honestly wants you, Rachael. Because, as we all know, that’d just be *terrible* if you were proven wrong and found love with someone who wasn’t already taken, wouldn’t it? Stop being such a stuck-up, self-centered CHILD and GROW UP. Miles is doing much better at that than you, and THAT says something!!!

Has anyone noticed that whenever the comic focuses on Mora, Rach, Alej, or
Miles it draws some of the most intense heat from the flamers? I mean come on
people it’s a damn web comic. It’s not the best in the world but by far not the
worst. And at least the art is a lot better than anything I could ever draw. I can’t
even draw a stick man right or write a grand novel, so I can’t complain about
anything in this comic.

What I am trying to get at is that if you guys want to nitpick through every
flaw that’s fine but don’t go about it like you’re the gold standard of web
writing. Get over yourself! Now I do have some problems with the story arcs but
not enough to result to insults and childish tactics to get my point across. You
can make a statement, bow your head, and casually walk off into the sun set without
having to resort to making yourself look like a total tool.

To all those that read this comment and understand what I am
trying to get at, thank you for your understanding. To the rest just leave the
rest of us alone to enjoy this free web comic in peace, or at least I think it’s

While I would like the two to bond over something other than their mutual dislike for Mora, I must admit that this is one of my favorite pairings for this comic.

However, I do think that Miles is a bit too much of a hothead to actually understand what a romantic relationship entails, and it would be better if he somehow learned exactly what it means to ‘be in love’ before attemtping something like this. In fact, putting in some competition on both sides (a girl gets a crush on Miles, a guy falls for Rachael) would prove beneficial for making them realize whether they actually do care for each other in a romantic sense, or was it all just the fact that neither of them got laid lately.

Also, I can’t buy that Miles doesn’t know anything about basic self-defense. He already knows what Rachael is like when it comes to fighting (he went to a pro match with her, for God’s sake!) and, like many other readers already noted, he should at the very least attempt to dodge and/or block, or even fight back, instead of taking it all like a masochist.

Although, I must admit I half-expected him to say “I love you” in his last speech bubble. Seeing him say “I *like* you” implies that he isn’t sure of his own feelings for her, but defnitely thinks of her as more than a mere coworker. Also, he straight-out says that he respects her independence – or hardheadedness, depending on personal preference – which may imply that he’s actually starting to be more mature about relationships. This is much closer to the slow build-up we can see everyday instead of ‘bang, I love you’ approach.

In the end, I’d say that I’m looking forward to see how this – and many more situations – play out. Cheers!

PS. I’m thinking about writing a crossover fanfic, with main character being Miles (not an asshole, of course). I already have several ideas, but suggestions are appreciated.

All I have to say is that Miles takes alot a shit from people and that makes him a “shitty character” because of that influence… I also think some of the other characters like Mora have it to easy now

I find it funny how everyone is just kinda freaking over the fact that Miles DESERVES THIS due to the Taffy incident. He got his payback for that when Milos hit him, and that was even a little over the top. But if you look at it now, with Miles being Miles, it shows that he really cares for Rachel. He knows she’s pissed, so to help her, he lets Rach beat him up. And in his own way, he tried to make her feel better by telling her he likes her.

AND COME ON GUYS.
IT’S MILES.
HE WOULDN’T LET HER BEAT HIM UP IF HE DIDNT ACTUALLY CARE FOR HER.

sadly not possible as people here have some big expectations of characters interacting in specific ways so some want Miles to hook up with Rachael others dislike the idea and others rant about their personalities and motives ETC so there really is almost no pleasing people here IMO

Y’know this hating on Miles arc is getting real old, so from now on whenever there’s any other arc I’m going to chime in about how much I hate that person. When we cut back to Taffy and Ran being cute I’m going to go on and on about how much money Miles spent on her, or the next time we see Mora I’m going to rub in every bad decision she’s made and all the people she hurt.
