Because I couldn’t update the comic last week, I have an early Las Lindas update this week, and a second one as normal, so hopefully you won’t have to wait that long! Had a sweet Valentines? Miles sure seem to feel very friendly and loving, but I don’t think Rachael will have any of it. Does she? At last this will give her the opportunity to freely punch Miles in the face. I feel bad for the poor guy already.

    I honestly wouldn’t count him out. If he’s been a rebel his whole life, odds are he knows at least something to keep from being knocked out by what likely were many people irritated by his behavior.
    I doubt he’ll end up winning in the fight, though. Probably doing his job of stress relief and preaching the good word of how not-so-negative her situation is, but not winning a fight.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if Miles is shown to be a confident fighter. I mean, we don’t know all that much about him from Learning Curves other than he’s a bit of a pervert. I mean, he could have taken up fighting lessons somewhere for the hell of it, before he dropped out of college.

        his rear elbow is out too far and his hands are too low and far apart. that said the stance itself is pretty solid if you’re a lightweight who dodges instead of blocks.

    Personally, I think we and Rachel are going to be surprised at how competent Miles is going to be at hand-to-hand combat. Just because we haven’t seen Miles in a fight, does not mean he hasn’t been trained somewhere before he arrived at Las Lindas. Sure he has been comic relief for a long time, but what if he was doing that so everyone underestimates him? He makes me think he’s a class clown who probably grew up with a martial arts master for a parent. To him, it isn’t something he thinks of, but is available to him none the less. Just a thought.

    I say Miles is a black belt martial artist who just happens to be a good mechanic. Beware of characters whose initial role was to be comic relief or the “punching bag” of many comedic scenes. Often those kind of characters turn out to have something that they are extremely proficient at and that it is a complete contrast to what you would think at first glance.

    I really admire the way Rachael is handling her frustrations. She’s letting her anger out in a healthy way and is even trying her best to “keep it together”. I find that her looking so furious while beating the life out of a punching bag and thinking “I’ll show her grumpy pants!” to be kinda adorable/hysterical. She’s definitely taking what Sarah said the wrong way by making herself believe Sarah also considers her a bitch, though. Rachael has a problem; one where she constantly feels like everyone is out to get her, even if she knows it isn’t true on a subconscious level. (I hope.) She really does need to find someone other than Minos to open up to and find a friend in. Right now she’s feeling ganged up on by everyone on the farm and betrayed by her only sister. I’m sure we’re all expecting Miles to take on that role as her new friend, but I’m really hoping it doesn’t evolve into anything deeper than that. ><; I am, however, happy she told Miles to give her space instead of full on yelling at him or straight up punching him down. She at least gave him a warning before he offered sparing with her in a heated state. I'm curious to see how this turns out. I think Rachael is stronger than Miles by a long shot, but he might stand a chance (seeing as how he did start working out a lot after that beat down from Minos forever ago).

    Miles appears to be not damaged.. He might have an awesome ability to dodge or can take a but load of physical damage… I can not wait to see what happens next..

    Well what’s the worst that can happen? He’s already been fired out of a cannon by Tootsie, punched by Minos, thrown down a well by Mora, kicked in the balls by Sarah, chased by a lawnmower during Digit’s malfunction (not blaming her), had a punch bowl dumped on his head by Taffy (in before forum civil war), fell off a cliff after Din and Jin hypnotized him, tied up by Rachael and mouth-burned by Randal’s spicy food. I think he can take Rachael’s abuse.

    Ok this is just me, I look at things way to much, but Miles has the same eyes as the white female cat lady from Knighthood, and he has that Tigers hair color, but that is just me looking into things, may he and I think the boy name was Shin were related I do not know we do not know much about Miles. Really hope he knows Martial Arts since he is one of my fav characters.

    wait a minute, like several arks ago after miles had his spat with taffy and got walloped one by Minos he went awol to and I’m only roughly quoting here that he won’t be “love tapping him quite so easily next time” so….maybe, just there might be a possibility that Miles won’t get hammered quite as hard as we expect. or maybe he’ll put her on her ass (if he’s actually stuck to a training plan). on another note, what the duce happened to his plane?

    May I leave a friendly suggestion? Please don’t take offense to this as I enjoy your comic and your art. Try thickening their necks abit, I don’t mean body builder thick, but they have the tendency to have very thin necks, and in some views it looks strange. Also racheal is a body builder, so her waist tends to be a tad thicker. BUT with that said…good art, good comic, keep it up

      That’s kind of what I think Miles is planning. Yet I don’t think he hopes to be able to score already a kiss. In fact, even though I’d like to see them as a couple, I’m still not sure if he’s interested in her. He might just want to help a comrad which is as badly treated by Mora as him.

        The only way to lose is being defeated pathetically(or losing his life, but what are the odds of that?)
        The obvious way to win is to win the fight.
        And then there’s the part where he loses but still gains Rachels respect, which is still a win.

    Also brings us back to their escapade to the arena; he might probably be trying to score some points with her by being a competent sparring partner. :)

    3. They start a secret underground society that sets up fights for random strangers wanting to blow off steam, then later on she finds out that miles isn’t actually real, but instead someone she created in her own mind due to her anger and desertion of everyone on the farm.

    my opinion is that either miles is going to get knocked down (a lot) but he keeps getting up and he says something romantic or smart and racheal starts thinking clearly again and they may go on a date or in the next panel miles does something that enrages racheal even more taking all of her anger that was directed at sarah, mora and everyone else and lets completely wail on him. either way he gets points for bravery and chivarlyness

    I would like to think that Miles owns her ass in the sparing match. Not beat her up but throw her a couple of times. I mean if you think about it this cat has come up with one surprise after another over the years. Making you judge him one way and then coming out with something that shatters that perception. What’s to say he doesn’t’ know some martial arts, plus I think it will be good for Rachel to loose a fight, might help shift her perspective a little. Especially with some ‘un-Miles-like’ sage advice afterwards.
