Injustice

And there are even more stuff between them aside from these, but Alejandra mentioned several of the ones most of us already knew. Still, wasnt Mora aware of them or simply tried to ignore it? More cowgirl confrontation next week!

    damn…..

    • DKN

Every week I see people get into big huffs about the issues between Alej and Mora, going back and forth as to who is more justified than who. Truth is the point of this part of the story is that its made of two people of different perspectives in conflict. Alej can be a real bitch whining in jealousy of what someone else gets, but she does work hard for what she has. She’s shortsighted by her own ambition. Mora can be a real bitch too, acting immature and taking what she has for granted, but she knows to stop and smell the roses and keep from stonewalling her heart off. She acts on her whim’s without understanding consequences. You can’t say one is right and the other is wrong, they both have their merits and flaws that they need to recognize and deal with, then learn to deal with each other again. The apple is no better than the orange here, they just need to learn how to blend and make a proper fruit smoothy.

      • MadLarry

        ^ THIS.

Why is it so hard for people to realize that BOTH characters have a tendency to be total asshats? Alej is no saint, but Mora’s hands aren’t clean either.

Honestly, I think Randal and Tootsie need to get together with a couple of big sticks and beat ‘em both over the head until they get some sense knocked into ‘em.

    • Chuck

Good analogy! An apple/orange fruit smoothie sounds really good!

    • BlakBrbrGuy

U guys are so right. Now if only I had a smothie.

  • http://laslindas.katbox.net Dakka

    oh wow FIRST!!!

    • Derterifii

      nice try.

Read who posted the first coment. He was first.

  • annon

this is why i love Alejandra

  • http://xhydralisk.deviantart.com/ Xhydralisk

Poor kid. She needs help, or at least a friend who will offer it.

    • Sepher

She did. She accused her of being a traitor and threw her out.

      • http://xhydralisk.deviantart.com/ Xhydralisk

        No harm in trying again.

  • Strongspank

that was a good telling off.

  • http://foxfirestudios.net David Foxfire

So instead of a teenage crush who presumerably abandoned her, it was a Nano-Spirit who presumerably abandoned her. That, and the prodigal cowgirl who return got one who appeared right off the bat.

For some reason, I can see the point.

Who wants to bet that this is where that Nano-Spirit finally wakes up. Someone’s gotta stop Alej from killing Mora at this time, and I see no Minos anywhere and I doubt Ambar’s in the same hemisphere.

    • Flyboy1945

Well Alej did break her shotgun.

      • Random Reader

Um… Am I the only one who realized that her weapon is wrong? Shotguns, including her coach gun, don’t have rifling in them.

      • Random Reader

EDIT: Didn’t realize she was using a a break single shotgun.

    • Razmoudah

Either that or Alej is going to try to break the Nano-Spirits core in her rage. Also, I saw that outburst coming, and it still isn’t the entirety of her pain either.

      • pookie

I agree that this venting rant of Alej’s is not all of her pain. I think on a very real level she would like to have back what they had in high school, but still feels hurt and abandoned over many of Mora’s actions, including her assumption that Alej needed protection… x.x

  • Insomniac

I really am worried she is going to try and step on/crush the gem. O.O I wonder if that would be considered murder? o.O Or worse. She attempts it and suddenly a Nightmare Ghost roars out of it and eats her!! O.O The edge of ones seat is a funny place to be. ^^

  • victorymon

oh no… she is going to destroy it.
you know what? I feel bad for Patches.

    • http://www.peterandcompany.com Jonathan

      Her NAME….

      …. is NEO!!

Oh, wait, no. Dang it, lemme try this again…

  • SuperVoop

I feel for Alej. Sadly Mora probably won’t understand the absolute truth in Alej’s words. While Mora’s been an interesting character, she’s a blatant user of people. Not in a spiteful, or conniving way, but rather in an ignorant, childish and self centered way. And its hurt, to varying, degrees quite a few of the other characters in the story.

    • Kurai

      Totally agreed.

  • SweetieBell

You know, I’ve always like Alejandra… She might very well be my favorite character in this series.

  • Icalasari

    Oh hell yes

Mora having everything fall in her lap… Being almost sueish at parts… Was all PLANNED! Hell yes! I wasn’t expecting a deconstruction!

Las Lindas has gone from a comic that garners smiles from me occasionally to one awesome webcomic that I am going to start recommending. Glad I never stopped reading, Chalo!

  • Jim Gettman

Alej ain’t killin’ Mora. Mora’s got a flaw or two, and I’d *love* to see the fight, but the brown cow ain’t goin’ down easy. No, sirree.

  • Albert

Oh so she is jealous that Mora was pure enough for the spirit to come out for her and her heart is too black for her spirit to come to her. So basically it’s the classic jealous despite the fact that I have everything and you don’t attitude right? You keep on insisting that you are better then me but somehow still can’t get off my case? Because things came to her easier that makes me a bad person. You know I hate people like her.

You keep saying your better then me but won’t leave me alone. I am a bad person because I got everything I wanted and you had to work hard for it.Mad because your cold hearted to the point that you nearly destroyed the grave of the only ‘mother’ you had.Because you are so insecure you couldn’t do without Mora. It’s funny how Mora is always the bad guy to the people here and yet she is the one with the friends and was able to bring out the spirit that only comes out for good people. You don’t see Randal blaming her for everything because he understood why she did what she did.God I have never seen someone as maladjusted as Alej.

    • Icalasari

      …What?

Mora has everything fall in her lap. She is abusive to her friends yet they stick around. She is lazy yet has a successful farm. She is a Mary Sue and Alej is calling her out on it

      • revilnemesis3

How has Mora been lazy? Mora never abused Taffy, Randal, and Digit.

  • Sevan

I’m with Alej on this one. Just as I was with Rachel on the Minos issue. Mona is very self-centered and ignorant of how she affects the people around her. Alej really has worked her tail off in order to be the best. Millions of people are like that in reality. Heck, my father is. However, no matter how hard you work, the dust is flung in your face and you have to force yourself to watch as people with no talent whatsoever get all the glory.

Yes, Mora had friends. Without them, she wouldn’t have what she does now. However, she has very much alienated and mentally abuse most of the ‘friends’ that she has. Rachel and Minos for example. Take point that Minos was trying to sweet by painting a picture of Mora and Mora simply laughed in his face and pushed him to the side because he was not ‘the best’ at it. Basically, Mora had turned into a complete asshole and she thinks she did the right thing. Then the Rachel incident happened. Rachel is another person who has worked her tail off in order to survive the world along with her sister. However, Mora treated them both unfairly. Rachel’s sister (I forgot her name) did not mean to hurt the nano-spirit in any way. She is still a child at heart and full of positive energy. Mora simply acted like a barbaric dictator toward her actions, instead of assessing the situation and talking things through.

And now, Mora wants to make amends because SHE believes that her rivalry with Alej was because of a simple love crush? That’s completely shallow and idiotic. I’m sorry but the people who think they are at the top of the world but have done very little to achieve it are simply ignorant assholes in my opinion. You can have friends who will be loyal to you and help in your situation but you must be able to stand on your own two feet instead of mooching off of everything else (like Mora does with her nano-spirit).

    • Luka

Don’t forget all the times she’s practically shit on Miles. Like when she used him for sex that night, then treated him like a sack of crap the very next day.

    • Biblioholic

      Ah nespotism you unjust bitch.

    • revilnemesis3

Okay, first Mora and her friends work really hard to keep the farm going and the only thing that fell in her lap was her victory at the festival. Also she is ignorant of everyone? Mora treated Taffy well and tried to help her and Mora was good towards Randal.

Mora apologized to Minos are you forgetting that? While Mora did go overboard with Rachael, Mora saw Rachael kissing Minos so Mora probably wasn’t thinking clearly and she could have fired Rachael but didn’t. Mora wasn’t the only one disgusted Sarah actions but Mora was the most vocal one and once again Mora probably wasn’t thinking clearly.

But yeah Mora thinking this is all because of a crush is idiotic.

    • Twinsnake

You’re convieniently forgetting the fact that Rachel is a thief. She came to the farm to steal, tried to steal again right after Mora gave them a house and a job, then a third time when she tried to steal Minos. Hell, she even stole Sarah from the orphanage because she didn’t want to lose her “little sister”.
As for Sarah, being naïve is no excuse. She is more than old enough to take resonsability for her actions. It matters not whether she was fooled or not.

  • Nicole

Hm, I don’t see it that way.
Mora worked hard, remember the first panels. Than she got help, and luckily a strong guy like minos. ;) But still, I don’t think, she is just sitting around and lets the others work their asses of. She manages the farm, right.
Sure, ther reaction on minos painting attempts was not nice, but the reaction about the nano-spirit incident war correct. Hell, the little girl (forgot her name) is 18! She should think! When a child does something wrong a parent would be angry, of course, if you excuse everything, how are they able to develop into responsible persons.
So, Alej is kind of overreacting. Instead of fighting Mora, she should have taken care of her factory. Maybe then she would have got the price, and her nanos spirit. By the way, since when does she have that!? Already before Mora came or afterwards? Is kind of important to figure out her true character.

Sorry, if I made mistakes. I am from Germany.

    Best

    • PuppyDogEyes

She might’ve been working hard for a little while, but she gave up quickly. She also didn’t just ‘go find help’, she dressed provocatively to use guys to work for her. Minos just happened to come along when he did and apparently saw some goodness in her. (Which really has yet to be seen.) I also understand why Alej is reacting so badly, she’s worked very hard for everything she has, Mora hasn’t. Now she’s giving up, pretty much saying “what’s the point?”.

  • Gryph23

    About damned time, Alej.

    Bravo, madam. Bravo.

  • Lime

Is it just me or is there a typo there?
I think Mora means to say, “Is that a -?” not “It’s that a -?”

also, you’re right Alej you are much better than Mora. (My opinion)

  • http://semc.deviantart.com SEMC

So Alej confirms that she’s a hateful self-destructive villain instead. Congratulfreakinglations Chalo. I still have no idea what motivates Alej’s destructive behavior, and now she’s spouting nonsense. So instead of being a shallow moron, now she’s incomprehensibly brain dead. She tried killing or physically harming the crew at Las Lindas, destroyed her “hard fought career,” whined, bitched and moaned in public at important social gatherings, and exiled her totally not gay for her friend BECAUSE SHE GOT A LITTLE BIT LONELY? Are you kidding me?

    • Sieglinde

I don’t think so. Remember, Diana died while Mora was away. Also, Randy, Diana and Alej must have been worried to death because Mora was missing, and Mora’s runaway started the ruin of the thing most close of a family to Alej. Yes, she is lonely, but I think Mora’s actions have hurt more people than just Alej, especially Diana…what Alej is doing is kinda like what a sister would do to another when the sister mess with their mother’s feelings.
Also, Alej never meant to kill Mora. The only time it got close to it was an accident.

      • Lowell

What Alej was doing throughout the story wasn’t JUSTICE at all or what a sister would do. It was about revenge, self-satisfaction towards making Mora suffer rather than seeking closure on an unresolved separation. In my opinion, Alej had all the time in the world through out the story to set things straight with Mora, telling her about how she felt when Mora left to find her father and when Diana died.

Under the guise of revenge, what Alej wants as well as Mora and Randel is to return to those happy days. Alej knows that she cannot return to the past but refuses to let go, so she decides to blame Mora for everything and make her the object of her revenge.

      • Icalasari

Lowell: Yes, Alej has her own problems as well. She can’t let go of her anger. However, Mora certainly has her fair share of issues

  • Sly

Shouldn’t it be “Is that a”, and not “It’s that a”

  • daedalus

Huh… well to be fair, neither of them are really in the right…

  • Jess

And then Mora finally realizes how much her past actions have hurt the people she cares about the most. I hope she’s less reluctant to finally tell Alejandra the real reason she left. Alej really should have let all that anger go along time ago, though, because look where it got her? She’s at her wits end and it must feel like it’s happening all over again for her.

Enough is enough, both have paid equally heavy prices for the mistakes they’ve made by now. It’s time for these two to talk and tell each other *everything*, or this pointless cycle will continue.

  • Ghoulzzz

A LITTLE BIT LONELY you say, hah?
Alej is fully right is her anger for Mora who left behind her mother brother and best friend right when they needed her most.
Diana was still suffering from losing her husband (though I know it happened long ago), Alej’s father died around that time and their farm and land became nothing. Randal could not find his place in the world at all + tried to help his mother to save what’s left of Las Lindas.
And now we have Mora who left just to run from problems cause she thought that she will “find herself” somewhere else away from bothering problem of other ppl even if this ppl raised her and helped her for the whole life.

    • Gaddez

Excuse me, but have you read the script? do you know why she left? Cuz I’ve been reading for a hell of a long time and the specifics of why she did so have never been clear.

Besides that, Alejandra hasn’t done anything mature or logical with regards to her actions; she sent thugs to harass her, tried to bulldoze the farm and was incredibly spiteful about the results of the festival. If she ever had a leg to stand on it broke a long time ago.

      • Biblioholic

She found out that her mother was sending money somewhere, it had her dad’s name on it. So she went to find her father.

She’s not a ditz who holds onto a high school grudge throughout life, she’s seeking justice/vengeance for what she sees as Mora’s complete lack of effort to get what she sees as rightfully hers. Still a villain, but there isn’t a single person on the planet that all other people hold as being completely right and completely without fault. People are imperfect, and this is no childish hatred. Was she justified in what she did? No, but her reason was quite enough to be justifiably incensed with Mora.

Alej is still an antagonist, but I personally wouldn’t really qualify her as a villain anymore.

  • Ghoulzzz

I’m not fond of such self-destructing anger, but I agree that Alej’s reasons for it are serious ones.

  • Victor

Well, this explains everything: Alej hates Mora for abandoning her and their family just to peruse their father who left them for whatever reason, and she did it without telling anyone. And for whatever reason, Mora has actually been rewarded virtually everything for it, so Alej has always worked her ass off to earn everything in order to correct the injustice Mora has ended up creating.

    • Albert

Oh I see. She worked hard to correct the ‘injustice’ Mora caused. So trying to destroy the only place that she thought of as home is righting the injustice? Harassing and scheming against the only person who was closest to you is righting an injustice. Is that why in the comic she is yelling ‘I am better then you’? Yeah I am sure she had such good intentions. That is why she was ready to bulldoze the home of the person who treated her like family and ruin her daughter. And rejecting her only friend that stood by her for years. If she was so interested in justice why did she let the farm go to pot? Why didn’t she help Mora preserve the place that their ‘family’ lived in despite her dislike of Mora? Why didn’t she help Diana when she was in anguish when Mora’s wasn’t there? How come she didn’t even know where she was buried meaning she didn’t even come to then funeral? What injustice has Alej tried to right? Show what part of the whole comic has she done anything to help anyone but herself? Even in the BATB comic the first thing she did is kidnap the boy and take him away from someone. Where is this imaginary justice that you seem to think Alej is doling out? Alej is behaving like the spoiled brat I always knew she was.’You got your spirit and I didn’t so it’s unfair’ Is it any wonder she has only one single friend.

      • Vortigaunt64

You do realize that BATB is non canon right?

  • Sieglinde

There you go, I was right! Hah!

  • Spanky

OK so let me get this straight people, Mora leaves to find her father but when she comes back she takes over the farm. The same farm her mother has ran Mora’s entire life. Mora bust her as to keep the farm, i.e. page 1 of the comic, And Alej thinks she just got awarded it? Mora admits to the fact she need help running the farm and goes out to find it in the most, well one will say unprofessional, manner. On her way back meet Minos who saves her from what would be an apparent attack from workers sent by ALEJ herself to run her off. She even says that herself.
And let’s not forget everyone favorite thief turned accountant Rachel who was even wanting to steal from Mora even AFTER Mora had given her and Sara a place to stay ( comic titled Glittering Prizes). AND then even forgave them and gave them a job. So why is it that people take what mistakes Mora has made and say that she was handed everything. True that Alej has earned a lot of respect but REMEMBER people she did turn down her share of the festival price money because she could accept that it was a tie.

So while i feel sorry for Alej she was the one that burned every bridge she crossed and “abandoned” her only friend who has been through thick and thin. And now it’s somehow Mora’s fault.

And by the way ALej and Rachel are two of my favorite characters in this comic along with many others.

  • Banter-O-Rilley

First off, there’s a type-o in the 4th panel: it should be “Is that a-?”

Wow…I gotta hand it to Alej: staying in the game all this time to keep her family and her dreams from falling apart.
It’s true, what with Mora searching for her father, and without telling anyone where she went Alej must have taken that as a seriously hurtful action…almost lke telling her, “Where were you when we needed you the most?! I couldn’t keep everybody together…we’re family, and we were supposed to be together through everything!!”
That, and getting rewarded in the fraction of a lifetime that Alej poured into her company is also a reason to be envious…I can understand why Alej is angry at Mora, and it stands to reason.

Still, let’s hope after they get it out of their system they’ll be better for it.

  • Chessrook44

So it’s really just jealousy. Powerful thing, that…

    • WizzardRabbit

I actually liken this story line to Pokemon; but was Ash (Alej) ever really jealous of Gary (Mora) when he was going through his journey of training his Pokemon (nano spirit)?

  • Snake_Pliskin

Put. In. Her. Place. Should have let the past lie down and let sleep.. Oh, and not assume all she needed was a bow-chicka-wow-wow..

  • http://laslindas.katbox.net/ Carbuncle21

i find this reasoning petty jealousy and misplaced rage but thats just my opinion

  • Gargravarr

Grah, I really wish this comic updated more than once a week. Drip-feeding this scene, probably the most important one in the comic thus far, is getting too much to bear. Now all I want to know is if Alej will give Mora a chance to try and explain herself. Maybe even find out why her Nanozell spirit hasn’t worked yet.

I would also like to say again, in Mora’s defense, that she really didn’t have any way of knowing why Alej was out for her blood because of the reasons on this page. Thinking that it was all due to a school crush was a bit immature, sure, but it’s not like Alej offered any other theory until now.

  • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

Well said, Alejandra, well said. I almost hope she steps on that damn thing if only I’m sure it would bring Ambar racing across the Galaxy to save it–that way she chew out the High Prime’s ass as well. I have no doubt Ambar would try and explain Mora’s situation to Alej but hey, let’s face it but that could lead to a humbling moment for Mora as well, where the bear could admit that she wouldn’t have even known about the Las Lindas Farm, let alone given two shits about Mora if it wasn’t for Minos asking her. That would take a lot of wind of of Mora’s sails and calm Alej some as she realizes at least someone else recognizes that Mora earned very little of what she’s received, giving the two bovine ladies a starting point to try and work out their differences.

  • Reaver

Well now, I can’t decide if this is irony or coincedence. I have actually made a similar speech before and this outcome was not on my radar. Most people who are confronted by this argument tend to use the “I didn’t mean to” excuse. But, that does not change anything. The fact of the matter is, people should be aware of the effects of their descicisions on others, especially the ones we care about, but most people ignore that. I am not saying do not pursue your life, I am saying be mindfull of your friends and family.

  • Lowell

Please, if you look back at the festival and the spirit’s refusal to come out for Alej was because she refused to move on from the past. She called Mora’s struggle for Las Lindas a sob story and claimed that she, Alej, sacrificed everything for her empire and that she was entitled to win. Seems rather childish to call another’s sob story and talk about her own. Talking like that makes her look more like a selfish brat than Mora.

Regardless, it is admirable how much Alej accomplished with her empire but she is being self-destructive with her fixation on revenge.

Yes, it is understandable to be angry and hurt but that doesn’t make it right to make a person an object for revenge, more so when getting innocent people involved.

    • Smilingahab

I can sacrifice my legs to win in the quest to get shorter too.

I call Alej’s whole empire a hobby to distract her from the 10 ton ball of hurt in the bottom of her heart. And lately a sword to stab in one of the only people left on Neo-Earth who would call her a friend.

  • Lowell

From a business standpoint, Alej is stealing resources and money from the investors. The money and resources don’t belong to just her, but to the company and the investors. Those money and resources are supposed to be helping the company and by extension, people. They are not just for her personal gain. Using those resources and money for revenge and getting back at Mora is betraying the investors’ trust to build money. The board are starting to notice her volatile schemes that are becoming a liability. But they don’t want to throw her out just yet, so they ask tootsie to help rein her back in, make her come to her senses because they know the close relationship between Tootsie and her. Alej chose to see it as everybody else scheming against her whlie they are actually trying to help her and lashed out at them like a child throwing a tantrum.

With that said, who is more the selfish one: Mora or Alej?

  • Albert

Ah I love how people defend Alej despite her obvious evil nature. Mora most likely went after her father to bring him back so her mother would be happy again. Didn’t anyone ever think of that scenario? Mora’s mom was depressed long before Mora even left the farm and saying she died because she left is very presumptuous.Randal never blamed Mora for her death at all and just because Alej was so maladjusted and could do with it Mora is no excuse. If Mora is so evil why is it she has friends and the spirit revealed herself to her and not Alej. Because she is evil, conniving and cruel and let’s not forget she just broke up with her only friend because she was trying to talk sense to her. No one gives her good talking to. Even Randal thought she was going too far with her behavior. And I find she has some nerve acting like this anyway. Diana wasn’t even Alej’s mother so what right does she have to judge Mora on hat she did. She went to find her wayward father most likely to help save her mother from the state she was in as she pinned for him. Seriously how long do we have to attend the Alej pity party? Mora’s life was hard too you know. Her father left her and het mother (her actual mother) died and she had to keep her legacy alive by herself not try to destroy it like Alej has been trying to do.

    • Lowell

Rather than evil, I’d say more misguided and narrow=minded. But yes, I agree with you about mora and alej.

Alej was in the lone minority for a good reason, she was spiraling out of control and being self-destructive. The minority isn’t always right.

  • astersa

    I knew that fight would have ^ _ ^

  • Arkron

Oh, no… Alej is not gonna do what I think she’s gonna do, right? She’s not going to step on that gem, is she?

  • Jolene

I don’t think everyone should judge Mora so harshly until they know the whole story. As someone who has been accused of abandoning people before, you don’t know what they were thinking until they tell you and most of the time it was for the good of everyone, not selfishness. So just be sure to remember that before you judge Miss Mora, who is a great and well rounded character, she just makes mistakes, like we all do.

  • Leo

    oh dear…..

  • http://draconia.katbox.net RazorFox

    “Prodigal son” much? ^__^

  • Neku

Stepping on it wouldn’t immediately break it. Alej was able to throw it all out against her furniture and it survived. And this is looking like potential for the thing to awaken. If pouring one’s heart out while restraining such anger isn’t a good reflection of character and development, I’m not sure what it takes for Alej.

    • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

Agreed. I almost hope she steps on the damn thing at this point; if only because I’m certain it will either draw what’s contained without finally, or send a distress beacon to Ambar so Miss “Deus Ex Machina” can try and settle things out finally, see what she’s done to ruin someone by simple doing a favor for Minos.

  • http://www.thegeekzone.us Justin T. Southerland

wow,, this is getting good! we get to see why the too is like they are…is it weird that i would so totally date Alj?

    • Smilingahab

She’d get annoyed at a hundred little percieved flaws in you and leave you in a few weeks. Probably half of them would be projections of her own shortcomings, but it’s how the deflecting mind works.

  • RKC

While I get her reason to be pissed with Mora however she still doesn’t realise that the cold and business only attitude will not awake her spirit (and for a good reason.)

  • Sandwich

Jeez guys, calm down! You whine more than the characters do!

I agree with daedalus here, they are both in the wrong here. Since reading the flashback comic, I can assume they are both a relatively young age. They are both young and immature in their own right.

Mora was immature from the get-go, believing her physical appearance will get her help around the farm, and keep in mind that it doesn’t state how long she’s been working on the farm by herself. Beforehand, she has stated that she sent fliers to get help, which proved unsuccessful, so she gets desperate…doesn’t mean that makes it right. Hell, when she recruited Miles, she hits him over the head with a frying pan as a recruiting method. It’s apparent at this point that she’s socially inept. I mean, who else would think this would actually work? In comes Minos, whose just being a nice guy in helping her out despite her bashing on his artistic abilities and thinks of HIM as a sexual object (go figure), and it can be seen that even he has standards when Mora didn’t take his rejection well and instead had sex with Miles out of spite (at this point, I wasn’t sure if she was our hero). Miles brings along Taffy as a sort of sudden, if not short-lived, love interest for Miles. Later, Rachel and Sarah (is this the name you were looking for?) arrive as your typical runaway thieves, doing the best the can to survive while on the run. Mora, instead of contacting the police like anyone else would, decides to keep them around, with some convincing of her ‘friends’ of course, to work on the farm. This backfires when Rachel develops an attraction towards Minos and Mora catches them in the act of kissing (even though Mora and Minos did more than that…). After the incident of that and Digit getting injured, she doesn’t even fire Rachel and her sister, thinking it crueler to have them continue working on the farm, and in Rachel’s case, under Miles’ supervision. Though, Mora shows a softer side to her when she thanks Rachel for saving Digit, revealing that she has more of a personality than she lets on. Someone has brought up the idea that Mora wanted to bring her father back to make her mother happy. I’m refuting this because she has specifically stated that she did this just so she could “Kick his ass”. This shows that Mora also has issues of revenge and abandonment, not just Alej. And now Mora assumes that the only reason that Alej hates her is because of a highschool crush? It’s clear what Mora is fixated on, and it is seen that what she has assumed is now biting her in the ass and Alej’s reason seems more justifiable…but!

Alej is no different. Mora is to her as ‘that one person’ is to us. You know, that one person that, no matter how long it’s been since they’ve seen them, you can’t stand the mother fucker. Yes, she has become successful and has done very well for herself, but in comes Mora and she everything falls apart. In fact, if Alej had just left her alone, Mora would not have meet Minos or any of the other characters and her farm would not have become a success. A lot of the misfortunes that befall Alej is her own doing, all because of a personal vendetta with Mora. See, Alej can also be immature, it only shows itself when Mora is involved, like at the festival. Alej also shows to be socially inept since her only friend is her co-worker, Tootsie. Though it has not been stated before, I theorize that Alej has her own issues with her father, taking up responsibilities when she was young. With Diana seeming like a mother figure to her, I can understand why should would feel that Mora was abandoning her. Doesn’t mean it’s the smartest thing to act on impulse and, clearly, we see how it affects her. Not to say she’s heartless either. She does feel remorse and regret, especially of recent events. It’s only when Mora suggests a childish motive that she goes right back to being resentful of her.

My point is, they both have flaws and it’s not about who deserves their misfortune and who is in the wrong, cause both of them are. It’s about their growth as characters. This is my opinion, take it for what you will, just don’t go on a tangent like before. Keep calm and enjoy the comic. :)

    • Smilingahab

To be fair, it is tootsie that led mora down the idea that it was all about a crush.

      And ask yourself:

Is it really the Internet without over 9000 levels of poutraeg?

      • Sandwich

Not that I wanted to come off as raging, I was just trying to show both sides of the story. Though if it doesn’t seem that way, I apologize.

      • Sandwich

But ‘to be fair’, it was Mora who told Tootsie that Alej’s actions were because of a high school crush…not the other way around…

The comic strip is still there. Look it up. And have a nice day.

  • Chocothunda

Aaaah, so THIS is why Alej does what she does.

Granted, she has a definite right to be angry if she believes that Mora did abandon her, Randal and Diana. It’s nothing short of abandoning family (and Randal, Mora, and Patches, from what we’ve seen in flashbacks and other comics, were pretty much stuck like glue to each other :) )

But that path for revenge is going to destroy more than Mora if she stays on it.

Though hopefully Mora will take this to heart.

What I like about both characters is that they’re both developing at a steady pace, in spite of their flaws. Both characters have had moments where major events have happened that changed (for better or worse) their views of themselves. This seems to another one of those major moments and it will be REALLY interesting to see how it plays out.

Props to Sandwich for providing a solid look on both chars!

  • http://yearofthecow.petitesymphony.com/ OtakuMan

Awww… she hates because she loves.

    …wait

  • otterpoet

Yeah, she’s got the right to be hacked off… Mora has left a wake of emotional destruction behind her, consistently walked away from responsibility and family, and still acts immature and petty… yet she gets the benefits of things she hasn’t earned. And has an overblown sense of entitlement to boot.

Meanwhile, Alej, who has endured hardships on numerous levels and has matured despite of them, gets the shaft constantly. Every inch forward she’s had to bleed and scratch for. It makes her the perfect foil for Mora. She’s the only person that doesn’t let Mora get away with her crap. Of course, injustice is the way of things and trying to get others to see that is like tilting at windmills.

With luck, this face-off will be end in an epiphany for both characters. Mora will see just how good she actually has it, and Alej will see that resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.

    • Albert

Yeah, Saying ‘I’m better then you’, whining constantly because you lost a single competition, trying to crush someone with machinery, trying to destroy the only place that felt like home to you and standing outside in your pajamas shooting at things because your friend told you something you don’t want to hear shows tons of maturity and stability *rolls eyes*. Is there anything you people won’t say to defend Alej’s craziness? If this is how you deal with hardships in life then may I suggest you get yourself institutionalized?

      • otterpoet

Actually, I’m not defending Alej’s ‘actions,’ but simply acknowledging her ‘character motivation.’ She’s been hurt by Mora’s actions, as well as those of those she’s trusted. She’s watched others – Mora, Scarlet, etc – be spoon-fed success and get rewarded for questionable behavior. She obviously had an ugly relationship with her father, which has screwed her up – despite what she says. And now, the only thing keeping her ‘sane’ – the job – is being taken away from her. So, her going off on Mora – the focus of much of her resentment – is absolutely in character.

Does that excuse her self-destructive behavior? Hell no! She’s completely off the rails right now. Frankly, Alej is her own worst enemy. The way she’s reacting to the various injustices – real and perceived – isn’t rational.

And that’s why I find her a sympathetic character because she could have everything she wanted – if she just got out of her own way. It’s the same reason I believe Mora is a sympathetic character; although she’s hindered by her own brand of self-destructive behavior. They’re different sides of the same coin, which is why – as I said – I hope this face-off helps them ~both~ come to an epiphany. And I’m sure with Chalo’s excellent writing, that’s more than likely the future outcome.

Sidenote: As for Alej’s shooting things… that actually makes ~perfect~ sense. That’s how she mentally regains her sense of Control over her world (look back at Building an Empire #6). Of course, the irony is that she’s still completely out of control.

    • Smilingahab

If she had matured at all her zell wouldn’t be a paperweight.

Excellent point with the last sentence though.

  • TimothyPine

Heh. I gotta say I’m loving this. In the past, the few times I tried to say Alejandra had a fair claim, everyone explained in very specific detail how stupid my opinion was. It’s nice seeing things turning around a bit.

    • Smilingahab

They were both given the same technology – the same symbol of the growth and maturation of their animus. It was their own responsibility to grow it. Mora could, Alej couldn’t. And that makes it Alej’s fault.

Alej used wealth and fame to bury her hurt, and let hate fester around it, and her zell – her heart – will never grow in such barren soil. As selfish and childish as Mora used to be, she has grown, and the bounties and boons she’s been granted are because she’s paid the goodness she’s found within herself forward. Alej has instead become a black hole.

So no, her claim is crumbling around her.

  • http://www.kitsune-realm.com Kitsune-Realm

Awesome, love the intensive looks on Alejandra :3

  • I-Blz

I think what people need to realize is that both of these characters are complex and deeply flawed, and that they both have a lot of baggage and assumptions that need to be broken. Mora is intentionally a terrible “good guy”, and Alej is quite a sympathetic villain, if she can even be called that. Plus, the whole point of this page is deconstructing the fact that Mora seems to get help from the gods themselves, at times, and that she is very, VERY immature, while also revealing exactly what Alej’s baggage is.

    • Albert

How is Alej a sympathetic villain? Who does she sympathize with? Unless you mean she is someone to sympathize like Harley Quinn in Batman or something. If so i agree with you that i feel that she seems to be on the verge of a breakdown and descending into some sort of madness. She is no longer rational and not even listening to her best friend any more. Also I wouldn’t say Mora is a flawed good guy no a terrible good guy. A terrible character has no friends. As long as Mora has more friends then Alej is shows her personality is more friendly then hers. However Alej has practically stepped on a lot of toes to get where she is.

      • I-Blz

Yes, i meant in a Harley Quinn way: you’re able to feel sorry for her. And I think Mora, at her core is a good person, but she’s also rude, overly blunt, and greatly disrespectful. She is kind, giving, and decent when she wants to be however, so she’s not all bad.

      • Smilingahab

Because we’ve all been hurt, and the majority of us have been afraid of the pain of confronting that hurt. Burying it with wealth and fame is as empty as Alej makes it look.

    • Albert

Also this page also reveals Alej’s immaturity as well. Shouting ‘I am better then you’ as if she is trying to convince herself that she is shows her immaturity as well as going outside and shooting anything that reminded her of Tootsie wasn’t to mature either. Can’t we just agree on the fact that they both have had problems and Alej obviously has not worked through all of her’s yet?

  • Grimlock64

You know, I can see this little “pep talk” seeming really bad, but all of a sudden right here Alej decides to keep on fighting to achieve what she wants and forgets about giving up (which is what it seemed she was intent on doing a few pages ago). Like she’s been reborn or something.

    …What a woman. <3<3<3

  • blurg

I’m starting to root for Alej.

  • Nynaeve

Hrmmm. All this talk about being pure in spirit causing the Nano-Spirit to emerge, i dunno, but I think Alejandra’s pretty damned pure of spirit as well. There is a LOT of anger and hurt inside her, but to me at least, her intentions have always been pure, in the sense of the word, not necessarily GOOD. She needs to hash out these problems with Mora though, BIG time. Maybe now is the time? I am seriously looking forward to how this resolves. :)

    • Smilingahab

Her intentions were to bury the hurt at the family falling apart with fame and wealth, and now she’s crumbling when she sees her zell silent and Mora’s growing, because she knows all too well that using a will-zur-macht to cover up hurt by violence of capital and in the farm’s case, actual violence is the domain of the worst cowards.

  • OneCommentWonder

Tv Tropes was right. Fan Dumb everywhere you look.

  • Sgt. Pickels

Alej has been my favorite character for some time; she is a well designed character with flaws and perks to enjoy. I hope she gets a victory out of this and Mora doesn’t beat her in the end.

    • Smilingahab

That’s the whole joke – Mora was never trying to beat her at anything in the first place, she just wants to rediscover an old friend that time and scars and the folly of youth got in the way of.

  • Explosion Zuruck

Ok. Time to cock, lock, and rock! *drops SPAS-12 and picks up the Death Machine* tiny bullet. HIGH RATE OF FIRE! WOO WOO WOO!

Stop cheering alej sure mora is an idiot but at least let her explain herself so she got the reason wrong ill admit she is kind of clueless but at least let her get a word in

  • Rafaelbgaranha

Good lord….so much fan rage on the comments…the sign of a truly good novel, that gets people to taking sides XD

  • crossfiretarget

Some of ya need to chill, it’s JUST a story, a very very interesting one at that.

  • Beta

Sometimes i wonder if chalo regrets allowing comments on his comics… or if he ignores them all together.

    • Smilingahab

No, and no. While the poutrage is over 9000, it’s just a comment section, and chalo has been around once in a blue moon.

  • william

wow, when alej blows up no one is safe. quite a monologue there, even if it was sprinkled with mora trying to explain. can’t wait to see what happens next

  • http://deviantART.com ProjectWarSword

It would be a shocker if Alej turns to be the hero in this..

  • LADJsim

    wow…the rage is over 9000!

  • Mr. Al

All this evil spewing from alej and ppl still likes her? humanity has failed God indeed… It’s annoying how everyone claims mora is hurting everyone, but no one seems to remember the countless times all the people whoms lives she saved goes behind her back. Everyone hates more because she was lucky. oh yes, being lucky is something you have compleeeeeeeeete control of. and corporations doesn’t give a shit about personal spites and vengence, like alej, they want her to focus on her work. and now she reveals that everything she did wasn’t in order to build a good company, she doesn’t give a fuck about that, it wa sonly so she could “beat” more in her little imaginary world. why do you think ppl like amber and others dumps free stuff in moras lap without her knowing it? because they see she is willing to make peace, live and let live and focus on running a good buissness, while they are just sickened and disgusted by how everything is just a tool for alej in order to get some unfounded revenge. revenge because you hate a girl for growing up and leaving home, wanting something of her own in life, beyond an old farm? I just weep for all the ignorant viweres who doesn’t understand enough and take sher side (i’m going to be hated for this, but that’s humanity for you!)

    • ViperFreak

You’re not going to be hated for commenting on a webcomic, Al, or for your opinions. You’re going to be hated because of what an utter asshole you are.

The second and final sentences are completely uncalled for. I think you need to cool your head for a bit.

  • some perplexed dude

yeah, I think I’d be hard pressed to sympathize with either of these characters at the moment… Alej’s reason for hating mora doesn’t hold water yet in terms of what we know of the story. There hasn’t been enough revealed in her arguments here or in previous comics to make a judgement call on the “issue”.

nice though, chalo, on the falling sue.

  • Summoner

The worst part of this is — Alej isn’t thinking with a clear head. Although Mora did put her foot in her mouth, the situation might have been a bit more negotiable is Alej wasn’t sick. Me no care what people say, not even Alej herself on an earlier page, but thinking not so goods while sick. Especially if it affects your sinuses. I’m not taking any sides, though i like Mora more I can see where Alej is coming from. I’m just stating that Alej picked the worst time to get sick.

At least she broke her gun, that cold didn’t seem to be hurting her aim.

    • Smilingahab

That chilly wind is nothing compared to what Alej let fester around the hurt spawned by the folly of youth and losing loved ones.

  • Gargravarr

If indeed Aleh is about to step on the nanozell jewel, I’m hoping Mora stops her and explains what’s needed to bring out a nanozell spirit and how that relates to Alej’s current behaviour. Maybe that’ll cool her off slightly.

  • keybladeknight

hi ladies and gentleman and rednecks to srry i had to put that pun in anyways u all remember a couple of chapters back was told how to active the spirit gem. a friend told her in a flash back i think that she needed to rely on others and friends and not just her self i think that. remember when the spirit gem was waking up that what i think will take and i wish pacthies will let mora explain why she left

    • Albert

I mean isn’t that she left because she went to find her father for her mother? I mean she as hurting so much without him she probably thought if she convinced him to come back it would fix everything. I always thought that was the reason why?

  • Vincent

I think in this point in their conversation that Alejandra is the female/anthro representation of how I feel about Mora’s character entirely, summed up nicely. Rooting for Alejandra at this point now :P

    • Smilingahab

Zells grow as their owners’ hearts grow. I hope you take another look at your character in light of the fact her zell hasn’t even twinkled. That’s really the whole point – Alej let the folly of youth and the hard times that fall on all sentient life.

This is your character denying that she couldn’t cover up the hurt with power and fame. Mora’s zell awake and hers asleep is this fact flying in her face.

      • Vincent

You do realize that everything Alejandra has said about Mora is true, and that I’m not even considering about anything but their characters and NOT their “Zell”. I’m trying to be realistic and don’t care about supernatural technology; Mora is the one whose let her youth folly, going around like whore and then getting everything fed to her with a silver spoon while Alejandra moved on with her life and had to work hard for herself. Now to basically have that all taken away from her because of Mora seems to be a tad harsh. Mora is the “shallow villain” that seems to care only about herself at the time before Minos and her Zell, making lives miserable without consideration. All I have to say now, after reading so much of this webcomic and feeling so damn pissed at Mora, I just hope she gets something coming to her but I respect if others feel like she deserves better or more. In short, Alejandra is the victim here (right now), and it’s time Mora get her ass out of her ass (or tits as Miles puts it).

  • Guest

Funny, Alej screams “HOW CAN SOMEBODY LIKE YOU BE MY RIVAL, I’M BETTER THEN YOU!”

Yet constantly shows herself treating Mora, just like a rival. Seriously, I’d have to go back and re-read it, but Mora didn’t start this crap, Alej did. IIRC, Alej was the one who started trying to tear down the farm and Mora as soon as Mora returned. Alej has been obsessed with tearing down Mora, to the point she’s torn herself apart.

The other people in her company played along, but when she found the grave and suddenly backpedaled they started seeing flags going up. She’s a villian because she made herself one, not because of anybody else.

    • Vincent

So is that an excuse to forget Mora’s own arrogance and behavior thus far, to compare with Alej? We all like to think we’re better than most people, you could take this discussion board for example even. The fact is that both characters are almost the same person except for the fact that Alej is alone with no one while Mora has everyone backing her up (sometimes for the wrong reasons). From what I can remember, it WAS Mora who started this all, not just because of how ignorant she is thinking this was all due to a old love-affair but how she’s ruined/ridiculed Alej in the process. And she didn’t tear down the farm as soon as Mora returned, and it never came to that or she didn’t want to harm Mora.
We need to think about their background story before we continue the blame-game and at this point I think I’m just blinded by my hatred for Mora’s character. She gets away with almost everything and we’re supposed to feel bad for her. I’m not saying everything I’ve mentioned is fact, and I’m sorry if I seem that way (I get carried away) but I strongly believe and can’t change my opinion over it. I will say, however, that Alej is destorying herself and consumed by hatred over Mora which is her own fault (“tearing herself apart” even). But she is just as victim as Mora is, and not a villain because she wants to be.

By the way, not to go off topic and sound stupid, but what does “IIRC” mean?

      • revilnemesis3

How did Mora start this? Also the only unforgivable thing Mora has done so far is what she did to Miles at the begging of the story. How is anyone at Las Lindas supporting Mora for the wrong reasons?

      • Vincent

        To revilnemesis3
Like I said, you have to pay attention to the background story behind Mora and Alej, and I was being harsh when I said that Mora started the conflict, but it has “partially” her fault. It’s because she left Alej all alone intentionally in the past and humiliated her during that contest which the Prime partically gave Mora the award by an unfair advantage, which cost Alej her publicity and reputation. Mora also used others to get what she wanted, and now Alej is suffering for Mora’s underserved financial gain. Mora is no better than Alej is what I’m trying to say but Alej isn’t a whore basically. I’m just tired of how everyone likes Mora like a band wagon without considering how bad a person she can be. I’d like her to get some karma. I do agree with the Miles problem, it was definitely her fault but there’s also Rachel and Mora, acting like she owns them both. Aside from that, I don’t want to back-track through the story to base my reasons further. I’m not saying I’m 100% right it, but you know.

(I don’t know why, but it won’t let me respond to your comment revilnemesis3 so I think I should stop replying now)

  • KS_Claw

Frankly, I feel sorry for both of them =/ I know Mora isn’t exactly a saint, but at least she’s *trying* to fix things. She could just as easily have laughed off everything and told Tootsie that she was on her own with Alej.

And Alej… well, she feels like she’s lost everything, and now Mora comes and just “assumes” that everything she did, was because she wanted revenge over a dumb thing like a crush. For all we know, she might have learned the hard way later how much of a round of bad news “that prick” really was. Add the bad relationship with her father, and well… one thing lead to another.

    • Smilingahab

Because Alej’s best friend, confidant and minion told Mora it was so.

  • Austin

Say huh now? Is it just me or is Alejandra either an idiot or a very blind hypocrite?

She’s the one who abandoned everyone. She would have bulldozed Diana’s grave if doggie didn’t tell her. Either she’s looking for excuses to hate Mora due to jealousy or she’s seriously deluded.

I thought she was bad enough, but she’s really seeming stupid now~. :/

    • Neku

Read the bonus comics as well. Timeline wise, Mora was the first to leave, whereas Alej did maintain some connection with Las Lindas and Diana. The family was already split up by the time this comic started, but Alej wasn’t the first of the three kids to leave.

      • Austin

But the point is that Mora obviously came back. Why would she do that if she didn’t care?

Plus fact for ya. She still cares a lot about Alej, even with her stupid moments.

And why would Mora protect the farm so desperately if she were the one who didn’t care. Alej has been back into a corner with not visible solution in a hole she dug herself, all because she wanted to crush Mora and anyone who got in her way. She might have seemed like the good girl at some point, but this proves it was all because she wanted to be better than Mora. Mora probably doesn’t care who’d end up the best. . . Unless best is best to Minos.

      • Austin

I don’t HATE Alej, because I actually liked her a lot at one point. She’s just not who she should be, right now.

      • Neku

There aren’t many people in the world who would respond to “Your parents are dead, so here. Their property, and the family business, is yours” with “Okay, I’m going to just pawn it off and keep away from it!”. Especially not when Mora already noted she left the farm in the first place to find out why her father was sapping away at Diana’s land (and potentially her health).
We readers know Mora cares. Alej the character, however, may not. It’s a method of suspense building. (I think grade schools called it “dramatic suspense” in specific, but I haven’t been able to find a way to confirm that.)

  • Dominic

Mora’s had this coming for a LOOOONG time now. As for whether Alej deserves to be giving the lecture, that’s up for debate.

  • Alex C

As I’m rereading the archives, I’m starting to comprehend why Alej hasn’t been able to summon her guardian. Part of it seems to be that she can’t be true to herself. Look at what she was doing a few strips ago, destroying things that were what she worked for. Obsession with Las Lindas or not isn’t the problem with her guardian, she just doesn’t … trust her own intentions. She looks for people that love her and simply pushes them away when their truths are an inconvienance to her world view. Its sad to watch really.

  • Eric Oxner

I have never seen alja so enraged. She grabed mora and is telling her off.And to why she has just hate for her.I got to say alja looks cute when shes pissed off.Not that I would want that anger directed toward me.She geting every thing off her chest.I hope things gets better for alja.Knowing that theres gonna be more trouble ahead thou.

  • Smilingahab

All that paper and power and here’s where you stand. Some life. For all the childishness Mora showed, a lot of it is in the past and she’s grown up some. That was the whole point of the zell. Where’s yours? Oh, still asleep. Can’t even get it to turn over.

She was rewarded for remembering what having a heart is, ya frigid bitch.

With all that intellect and business savvy at your disposal… you’re still one clueless idiot.

Mora might have a bitchy outlook at times…But deep down she has a good heart and everyday tries to do better and for her efforts she was rewarded for it….Something you might achieve yourself if you only use that brilliant brain of yours and figure out what’s really important…..But no… you won’t do it…You don’t know how…..Or do you?

    • revilnemesis3

It’s not like Patches doesn’t deserve some of what happened to her.

  • Pachi-O

Wow. She hit it on the head. I can honestly see Mora crying next page.

  • confused dude

revil, i’d go a step further. She completely deserved a majority of what has happened to her.

  • Zachary

    Now we’ve reached the climax!

  • Cyrad

Pointing out all the flaws in the story doesn’t make them go away.

But it’s nice to see the story come to a head, provided this plot doesn’t end in an anticlimax of no consequence like before.

  • Albert

Hmmmmmm….. I wonder if the people that say these things even read the comic at all the way they take sides. I read that Mora is shallow and cold and bitchy and evil and cruel but when you look back at the comic so far Mora never did anything at all. It’s only Alej so far that has been constantly attacking her, insulting her, trying to destroy her. Alej was the one who stepped on everyone’s heads and burned bridges behind her without a single thought about anyone else. She has no friends and just rejected he only one she has. She doesn’t socialize and would rather ruin the whole company and take it down with her then listen to reason. Things aren’t going her way for once in her life and she is sitting their sniffling and sulking like a baby over someone who has had it just as hard as she has.

Is it Mora’s fault she is an anti social, maladjusted, cruel bitch? She didn’t even care that her father died and didn’t even come to Diana’s funeral and to top it all off she tried to destroy the only place that was like a real home to her.Mora at least tries to so the right thing and has friends that support her. But even Randal the most level headed person in the group thinks she has gone too far. So in short Alej us the villain here. You can try to spin it on it’s ear and turn it around and throw the blame around but Alej didn’t have to become this way at all. She decided to become this way on her own.

Mora didn’t tell her to have no friends or be a corporate shark or step on people’s heads or hate her father or have no social life or to go on a path of destruction or be do black hearted that the spirit couldn’t come out no matter how hard she tried or to be jealous of her no matter how much she achieved.Like someone said further up Alej is a ‘synthetic villain’ like how Harley Quinn or Magneto but they are still the villain no matter how sorry you feel for them. Many villains blame the good guy saying if they hadn’t done this or that they would not be the way they were.

But if you let one person dictate and control how your whole life plays out then you are not strong. You are pathetic.I’ve heard this speech from the bad guys all the time ‘if you hadn’t done this or that I wouldn’t be as rotten as I am now’ or ‘it’s not fair that your life was better then mine’ or trying to blame all their ineptitude or shortcomings on others.’If you weren’t here my life would be perfect’ Classic villain behavior.

Oddly, I got a hoof fetish and the last panel filled my oddest dreams. Ha! Kidding! Wouldn’t that be funny if someone has a hoof fetish? Wait.. YOU DO!

  • Albert

Sorry in my post i meant sympathetic villain. Typo

  • Xass

lol since all the recent comments and stuff….Chalo should make a poll about who is the most favourite character..

  • tantrumspiral

Hah, nice. I never really liked how Mora “POWER OF FRIENDSHIP”ed her way through everything, even though she was not really likable most of the time. At least someone acknowledges it and wants to do something about it

    • Albert

Ummm….. not to rain on your Mora hate parade but at least Amber,Taffy, Randal, Sarah, Minos and Digit like Mora and want to be around her.She doesn’t have to force them to stick around. Basically no one likes Alej at all not even her own spirit. They didn’t even like her when she was at the resort in Breast are the Best. She had to kidnap someone to be with her. The people in her company don’t even like her. I don’t know about you but when you have just one friend and everyone else can’t stand to be around you and avoid you, that is a BAD thing and that should give you a hint how messed up your personality is. Mora is a good guy with faults. Alej is a messed up crazy person

      • tantrumspiral

But you can’t deny that’s what Alejandra said IS kinda true. Besides, if she really was that crazy, that shotgun wouldn’t be broken but used properly, for one thing. She just dedicated all of her time to hard work to actually give a chance to people to like her
And Mora won over High Prime’s favor just like it’s nobody’s business, while Alej was (from her POV) made fun of by Ambar. I can understand her being mad after all this

      • http://www.furaffinity.net/user/maverikat/ MaveriKat

I can’t help but laugh as you pointedly left out Miles in that statement.

  • Makai

I bet Chalo is LOVING the fact that everyone is getting so worked up over his characters and debating who is right and who is wrong. If he’s sitting back with this huge grin on his face, I would laugh my butt off.

  • Renee

    WTF LIKE WOOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Albert

@ tantrumspiral. I think Amber does that because Alej takes herself way too seriously. When she was at the resort she couldn’t even enjoy herself. When was the last time you ever saw Alej having fun or enjoying herself? She is a stick in the mud and Amber knows that. She gave her the spirit gem in hopes that she would change her ways and it just made her even more bitter because she realized she didn’t have the personality to make it manifest. Mora won the competition and despite the fact that she claims she doesn’t care and it doesn’t matter and she is better then Mora she still can’t leave her alone. She has been the one attacking Mora all this time and Mora has just been trying to survive and save the farm that her mother owned. Diana was like a mother to Alej and she was ready to bulldoze everything over without ever thinking she should at least try to preserve the place that felt like home.

She has all the connections and resources in the world and she didn’t even try to put aside petty things and help Mora protect it? Not sire what everyone else is seeing but Alej has grown up very cruel and maladjusted and people keep talking about strength because she became an anti social recluse that burned all her bridges behind her and stepped on everyone’s toes on the way up.Mora has faults too but not ones so bad that your own friends, colleagues and family think you are out of your mind. She is standing outside early in the morning in her underwear shooting inanimate objects. Does that sound like stability or sanity to you? Don’t tell me Mora leaving triggered all of this. I am sure she had lots of people she could have turned to for support even when she wasn’t there. Why didn’t she look to Randal for support or anyone else? Because she chose to let this fester and screw her up. She is like people like Clock King and Riddler. Instead of moving on and embracing the success you make of yourself you allow petty things to throw you off.

    • tantrumspiral

      Ugh, man, you’re something…
I’m not gonna debate on all the points, sorry. I’ll admit, that Mora has flaws she’s working on, and she -did- awake Digit which confirms her not-so-shallowness, and she is also a main character which gives her the benefits of having enough points to make her instantly right in everything, like, I’m sure we’re gonna find out soon that she didn’t really abandon them and just was looking for her father.
You gotta admit, though, that Alej is that way because Mora made her, intentionally or not. From Alej’s POV Mora had a jolly trip, came back, took what rightfully isn’t her (Las Lindas), and with help of Ambar out of nowhere rubbed it all in Patches’ face, making all her hard work which took so much from her utterly meaningless. And in recent events Alej was betrayed by that only person she trusted (her POV), business is going to shit. She’s kinda holding alright, you know.

    • KingMan

“She is like people like Clock King and Riddler. Instead of moving on and embracing the success you make of yourself you allow petty things to throw you off.”

No mention of Charles Foster Kane (Citizen Kane) or Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh!)? ^_^

  • beastman

Gotta say…Mora looks more and more shallow and petty than ever as we read along here, I mean, I can totally get why Alej is so determined to beat her now since Mora really hasn’t had to work for everything she has as Alej has had to do. It be enough to piss anyone off, especially the part about Mora just up and leaving all her friends and family behind without warning or goodbye first.

Go Alejandra! Keep up the pace :D

    • Renadt

Yes, she did. Do you think that Mora would have won if she had done nothing? All Ambar gave Mora was a chance, she earned her victory. You claim that Mora is shallow. She has flaws, yes, but she is struggling to learn. Why do you think Digit awoke? If Mora truly was shallow, then the NZ would not have manifested. Alej has indeed been on the offensive since Mora returned. Not only that, but Alej pushed aside her only friend because she didn’t agree with her. Who’s the shallow one here? Certainly not Mora.

  • that man over there

I bet ya that mora went looking for her father and to ask him why he left her mother.

    • lonlonman

      That’s what i’m thinking too.

  • Greg White

Alejandra seems to feel that her life is empty and meaningless.

  • Katzy

:( Aw<3 she's just hurt. Poor Alej:( Mora, you best conjure up some kind of apology and then try to make this better.

Alej worked hard, and can’t seem to make her life feel like it’s living :(

    Yes it worked

  • Random knight of confused

….it’s like fucking WW3 in here

  • Albert

@ Katzy. So Alej doesn’t have to apologize for constantly trying to ruin Mora, trying to destroy her home, conspiring against her, trying to crush her with machinery or almost bulldozing her Mora mother’s grave? Wow. Are you sure you people read this comic from the start? All I keep hearing that Mora should apologize and Mora did this and that but how about Alej apologize too.Even the people on Mora’s side says she has faults but the people on Alej’s side seem to think she just sat there and did nothing at all.

Mora most likely went to find her father for her mother’s sake. Diana wasn’t Alej’s or Randal’s mom so they have no right to judge what she did.Alej hated her father and didn’t even know where Diana was buried so I think she has some nerve lecturing Mora about who abandoned who and about responsibility. She didn’t even come back to the farm after Diana died to see how it was doing. If you read this Chalo please don’t cop out and pretend that this is somehow all Mora’s fault and have her bawling an crying and confessing and pretending that Alej was faultless in all of this. If you do I will never read this comic again because that is crap.I will admit Mora is not innocent in all of this but Alej has to pay her dues too.

  • ikeman

    i like apple

  • Leandro

    @that man over there says…

“I bet ya that mora went looking for her father and to ask him why he left her mother.”

This would be one of the few reasons i could see mora leaving tbh, and if chalo is as brilliant as ever, this has got to be the reason

  • http://Www.revengewebcomic.webs.com Dani

Alej should just forget about the goddamn past and move on! I mean, Mora tried to rekindle and she misunderstood what patches was pissed off about, everyone can make mistakes darn it, Alej just has chill! Can’t she see that everyone cares about her and wants to help her but because she has a massive ego and some sort of mental issue where she pushes everyone away who wants to talk some sense into her, for her OWN good! *long and deep sigh*

  • http://Www.revengewebcomic.webs.com Dani

AND she shouldn’t draw conclusions by saying that Mora abandoned them because she didn’t, she went looking for her father! If Alej has a problem with that, well… Then she should SERIOUSLY get some psychiatric help.

  • KawaiiChii

Considering you’re a random redneck, I’m going to assume that you aren’t capable of understanding that Alej isn’t WHINING, she is stating the TRUTH.
