oh god, I love this page so much. The texture that’s over the entire canvas, the lighting and the posing. Just wow, I’m really blown away and I gotta say, I’m really enjoying this arc, I think it’s been the best part of all of Las Lindas’ arcs. The first panel is definitely my favourite and I love the structure of all the backgrounds. I’m really excited to finally see Mora’s dad..maybe finally see where she gets those big ears from? <3

  Actually, on second thought, the prostitution angle seems out of kilter, consider that in the 3rd panel where she’s talking about having to “. . . work” she’s actually dressed more conservatively than in most of the rest of the strip. She’s dressed less showy and more like a tough.
  
  So maybe when she’s talking about “. . . work”, she maybe did a few “. . . jobs” where she made people “. . . go away”, if you know what I mean.
  
  So take heart, Mora fans. She’s probably not a streetwalker at all — just a killer for hire.

Don’t snap the buttons in the back of it until after you get it down. This way the tightening process keeps it from slipping up over the horns, rather than preventing the cap from sliding down over them.

… Huh. This one page actually shines a bright light on why Mora is the way she is. She’s been trying to use the lessons learned in those years in a place they don’t really apply. I’ve never been really anti-Mora, but I’ve never exactly liked her… but one page, and her worth and depth as a character have just skyrocketed. A good reveal improves everything before it, and this is a damn good reveal.

Why is everyone assuming that this means prostitution?
Look at her in that panel – the clothes, the attitude, she looks like a thug, not a hooker. She said she was not proud of it, this could mean that it was criminal, certainly, but doesn’t necessarily mean she was whoring. She could have been engaged in any number of illegal activities that would be different to a “real job” that she thought of getting.

Someone a good many pages ago guessed bunny, to explain why her ears are so oddly long. Every bovine has visible ears, sure, but hers are long enough that it makes sense for a long-eared father to share those specific genetics.

  He could just be a different kind of cow. Look up Brahman (also called Zebu) cattle- they have very long ears (helps cool them off when it is hot, they live in more tropical climates). Your typical bovine if you live in cooler climates is Bos taurus (like Diana and Alej). Brahman are Bos indicus, an entirely different kind of cow, but completely crossable with taurus cows.

I find the hospitalized dad option to be unrealistic, given the complicated setup of how the money reached him. If the father was terminally ill, then funding his medical aid would take precedence over secrecy, and Diana should’ve sent any money directly, eliminating the need to compensate these middlemen and thereby saving money to further fund said hospitalization.

However, the idea that Mora’s father might be some sort of scallywag, either corporate, criminal, or just a plain bum, has unfortunate implications for Diana’s character. If she would willingly run herself ragged to financially support someone of such questionable moral fiber out of some misplaced ideas of loyalty and love, it paints her as emotionally dependent, weak, needy. And that’s not the Diana we know.

Unfortunately I can’t think of other scenarios that don’t basically resolve down to what I already mentioned. But given that (if I remember correctly) Mora mentioned both of her parents being dead at the beginning of the comic, the hospitalization option seems the most likely. If that is the case, then I want to see a decent reason why it was kept from Mora, and why Diana and her husband set up such a complicated means of moving the money around.
